Combined effect of polycarboxylate type superplasticizer and sodium sulphate on the hydration of fly ash blended Portland (R) cement has been studied by using different techniques. Water consistency, setting times, non-evaporable water contents, water percolation, air contents, compressive strengths and expansion in corrosive atmosphere were determined. Hydration products were examined with the help of DTA and X-ray diffraction techniques. It is found that the superplasticizer reduces the pore size and its adsorption on cement surfaces is decreased in the presence of sodium sulphate. Mechanism of hydration is discussed.

Microbial Keratitis in Nepal: Predicting the Microbial Aetiology from Clinical Features

Jeremy J. Hoffman, Reena Yadav, Sandip Das Sanyam, Pankaj Chaudhary, Abhishek Roshan, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Simon Arunga, Victor H. Hu, David Macleod, Astrid Leck, Matthew J. Burton

Summary: This study investigated the clinical and epidemiological features of microbial keratitis in Nepal and developed a predictor score to determine the microbial aetiology. Fungal infection was found to be the main cause of keratitis, with dematiaceous fungi being particularly prevalent. Serrated infiltrate margins, patent nasolacrimal duct, raised corneal slough, and organic trauma were identified as independent predictors of fungal keratitis.

An efficient self-embedding fragile watermarking scheme for image authentication with two chances for recovery capability

Durgesh Singh, Sanjay K. Singh, Sandeep Sambhaji Udmale

Summary: In this paper, a self-embedding block-wise fragile image watermarking scheme is proposed for authentication, localization, and recovery with enhanced accuracy. The scheme splits the cover image into non-overlapping blocks and calculates restoration and authentication bits from the MSBs planes. The proposed scheme achieves high-quality restoration and significant authentication possibilities for each block, with high Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and Normalized Correlation Coefficient up to 50% tampering rate.

Hydration of Portland slag cement in the presence of nano silica

Raju Goyal, Vinay K. Verma, N. B. Singh

Summary: The cement industry is under significant pressure to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, which account for nearly 7% of global emissions. Supplementary cementitious materials can effectively lower these emissions, but they also have adverse effects on the performance of cement. Nanomaterials, however, can offset these adverse effects and offer additional benefits by reducing CO2 intensity.

Value Co-creation in Sports Live Streaming Platforms: A Microfoundations Perspective

Haoyu Liu, Kim Hua Tan, Ajay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Leanne Chung

Summary: This study explores the microfoundations of value co-creation by external actors (viewers and streamers) on sports live streaming platforms (SLSPs) through empirical research. It reveals the value co-creation activities between viewers and streamers in different activities, as well as the unique value-in-use among them. The model presented in this study demonstrates that the viewers' engagement and the microlevel value co-creation activities between viewers and streamers determine the formation of value-in-use, contributing to the competitive advantages for SLSPs at a macrolevel. This study contributes to the existing literature on engagement behavior and value co-creation in the context of SLSPs, by empirically examining the role of external actors' engagement as the microfoundations of value cocreation.

Influence of replacement of wheat flour by rice flour on rheo-structural changes, in vitro starch digestibility and consumer acceptability of low-gluten pretzels

Nusrat Jan, H. R. Naik, Gousia Gani, Omar Bashir, Tawheed Amin, Sajad Mohd Wani, Shakeel Ahmad Sofi

Summary: This study examined the impact of rice flour incorporation on various quality attributes of low-gluten wheat-based pretzels. The results showed that the addition of rice flour increased the swelling power and bulk density, while decreasing the oil absorption capacity, solubility index, foaming capacity, and foaming stability. The study also found that the incorporation of rice flour affected the elastic modulus, starch digestion characteristics, and texture of the flour blend. Furthermore, the developed low-gluten pretzels with rice flour had higher mineral profile and lightness, and better overall acceptability.
