Summary: This study investigated the advantages and disadvantages of regional and intermittent hepatic inflow occlusion in laparoscopic hepatectomy. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the two occlusion techniques in most indicators, but regional occlusion was more advantageous in terms of operation continuity, intraoperative bleeding, and postoperative liver function recovery.

Summary: The Pringle maneuver is effective in preventing intraoperative hemorrhage during hepatectomy, but prolonged ischemia time may lead to unfavorable blood test results in the early postoperative period. However, patients tend to recover by the 14th postoperative day regardless of the ischemia time.

Summary: Both the TIO and HIO approaches could be safely performed for LLR in selected patients when performed by experienced surgeons. The TIO technique for LLR had the advantage of being easier to master than the HIO approach. Additionally, when the transection plane was located on the liver Cantlie's plane, TIO seems to have some superior perioperative outcomes.

Summary: This study introduces a technique for hepatic inflow control using an endovascular clip. By confirming the space between the right and dorsal side of the hepatoduodenal ligament and introducing the clip, hepatic inflow can be controlled. The patients had successful postoperative recovery without any complications and were discharged. This technique may be safe and feasible for open and laparoscopic hepatectomy after esophagectomy.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of hepatic inflow occlusion and the number of occlusion times on the prognosis of patients with ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (rHCC). It found that one-time hepatic inflow occlusion did not affect postoperative overall survival (OS), but negatively affected recurrence-free survival (RFS) in rHCC patients. Additionally, two-times hepatic inflow occlusion negatively impacted both postoperative OS and RFS in rHCC patients.

Summary: The use of Pringle maneuver (PM) during hepatectomy can reduce intraoperative bleeding and the need for perioperative transfusion. However, its effect on long-term recurrence and survival for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains controversial. This study found that not using PM can lower the risk of postoperative recurrence and cancer-specific death for HCC patients.

Summary: This study analyzed the clinical impact of pretransplant administration of mycophenolate mofetil in reducing intrahepatic cholangiopathy in ABO-incompatible liver transplantation. The results showed that patients who underwent open surgery and received pretransplant mycophenolate mofetil had a lower incidence of intrahepatic cholangiopathy in ABO-incompatible liver transplantation. This suggests that pretransplant mycophenolate mofetil can reduce the risk of intrahepatic cholangiopathy.

It found that TPE improved oncological outcomes in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who underwent ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation. Patients who received post-transplant TPE had better HCC-specific recurrence-free survival, especially in advanced cases with microvascular invasion and beyond Milan criteria.

Summary: The study shows that LDLT is comparable to DDLT in terms of graft survival for high-MELD liver transplantation. Biliary complications are more common in LDLT group while viral infection, postoperative uncontrolled ascites, and postoperative hemodialysis are more common in DDLT group. Acute chronic liver failure, intraoperative RBC transfusion, and early postoperative complications are risk factors for graft failure in LDLT group.

Summary: This study evaluated the prognostic value of non-invasive biomarkers after curative liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The results showed that FIB-4 was a significant predictor of HCC prognosis after curative liver resection, while APRI had less value in prognosis. The hazard ratios for 2-year recurrence-free survival and overall survival were 1.81 and 2.36, respectively, for FIB-4. This study suggests that FIB-4 is an important predictor of HCC prognosis after curative liver resection.
