Summary: This study investigated the feasibility and safety of using robotic assistance for epiretinal membrane peeling surgery. Although the robot-assisted surgeries took longer, several surgical steps were found to be feasible with assistance from the robot. BCVA and CRT improved equally in both groups.

Summary: This study investigates the effectiveness of a culturally adapted manual-assisted problem-solving intervention (CMAP) for patients after self-harm. The findings suggest that CMAP can significantly reduce the repetition of self-harm and have positive effects on suicidal ideation, depression, hopelessness, and health-related quality of life.

Summary: This study is a randomised controlled feasibility trial comparing robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) and open partial nephrectomy (OPN) for renal neoplasms. The primary endpoint is the feasibility of recruitment, and secondary endpoints include perioperative results and health-related quality of life. Results will be disseminated through peer-reviewed scientific journals and appropriate conferences.

Summary: VANH is a minimally invasive surgical technique using natural body orifices such as the vagina. It offers advantages over total laparoscopic hysterectomy, including no visible scars, less blood loss, shorter surgery time, and the ability to perform surgeries in a day-care setting. This study aims to compare VANH and VH in terms of same-day discharge, complications, surgical outcomes, postoperative recovery, quality of life, costs, and cost-effectiveness.

Summary: In the context of unsedated sigmoidoscopies with enema preparation performed by accredited endoscopists, there was no significant difference in patient-reported pain between CO2 and WAS techniques. The adenoma detection rate was slightly different between the two techniques, but both remained above the national performance standard. Cost difference between CO2 and WAS was negligible.

Summary: This study compared the effects of standard colonoscopy (SC), Endocuff-assisted colonoscopy (EC), and cap-assisted colonoscopy (CAC) on adenoma detection rate (ADR), with the time to reach the caecum being significantly reduced when using cap-assisted colonoscopy. However, no significant improvement in ADR was found in this study.

Summary: Combined manual therapy including soft tissue and articulatory techniques is more effective in reducing migraine pain and perception of change compared to using either technique alone. However, all three therapeutic approaches show similar benefits in reducing pain, disability, and impact caused by migraine as well as depression and anxiety levels.

Summary: This study compared the achievement of USC pentafecta and trifecta between open radical cystectomy (ORC) and robot-assisted RC (RARC) with totally intracorporeal urinary diversion (iUD) using a randomised controlled trial. The results showed no significant difference in USC pentafecta and trifecta achievement between the two groups. Additionally, the study found that achieving pentafecta and trifecta had a significant impact on global health status/health-related quality of life (HRQoL).

Summary: Posaconazole was non-inferior to voriconazole in terms of all-cause mortality up to day 42 in patients with invasive aspergillosis. Posaconazole was well tolerated with fewer treatment-related adverse events compared to voriconazole in the study, supporting its use as a first-line treatment for the condition.

Summary: The study found high acceptability of risk-reducing early salpingectomy and delayed oophorectomy (RRESDO) among premenopausal women at increased ovarian cancer risk, particularly those concerned about sexual dysfunction. While satisfaction rates with risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) remained high, regret rates were higher for premenopausal women compared to postmenopausal women. The use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) following premenopausal RRSO did not increase satisfaction levels but did reduce symptoms of vaginal dryness.

Summary: The study identified seven interconnected themes integral to surgical decision making among BRCA carriers considering prophylactic surgeries, and highlighted that RRESDO offers premenopausal women a degree of ovarian cancer risk reduction while avoiding early menopause, particularly for those concerned about the impacts of menopause. Centralised care for high-risk women at specialist familial gynaecological cancer risk management centers is recommended to provide better-quality, streamlined, holistic multidisciplinary care.

Summary: The study in Burkina Faso estimated the costs and incremental cost per case detected of screening strategies for high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN2+) in women living with HIV (WLHIV). The average cost per screening test ranged from US$3.2 for VIA to US$24.8 for cytology. Despite higher costs, careHPV was more sensitive for CIN2+ cases detected compared to VIA/VILI.

Summary: Multigene testing in ovarian cancer, especially after counselling by multidisciplinary clinical teams, shows a high uptake rate of 97% and identifies a significant proportion of patients with pathogenic variants such as BRCA1/BRCA2, RAD51C/RAD51D/BRIP1. Prospective parallel somatic and germline panel testing is recommended to maximize variant identification in cancer patients.

Summary: This qualitative study explores the attitudes, experiences, and emotional well-being impact of unselected population-based personalised ovarian cancer risk prediction through genetic testing in the general population. The results show high satisfaction and reduced anxiety in low-risk individuals. Facilitators include ease of testing, learning about children's risk, and a desire to prevent disease. Barriers include changes in family dynamics, insurance, stigmatization, and personality traits associated with stress and worry.
