Summary: This study aims to explore the characteristics of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in pemphigus vulgaris (PV). Flow cytometry was used to detect the proportion of ILC subsets in the peripheral blood, and it was found that ILCs/CD45+ lymphocytes were significantly decreased in PV patients. The frequency of ILC1s increased and was positively correlated with anti-DSG3 antibodies, while the frequency of ILC3s decreased and was negatively correlated with anti-DSG1 antibodies. After methylprednisolone treatment, ILC1/ILC levels significantly decreased.

Summary: This article discusses three cases of pemphigus presenting with predominant skin lesions and no mucosal involvement despite high anti-Dsg3 autoantibody levels. Two cases were diagnosed as cutaneous type pemphigus and one case as pemphigus foliaceus. Weak anti-Dsg3 antibodies can induce acantholysis in the skin, but are insufficient to induce mucosal lesions.

Summary: This review summarizes the two major subtypes of autoimmune bullous diseases (AIBD), PV and BP, characterized by blisters and erosions of skin and/or mucous membranes with dysregulated immune activity. T and B cells are established as the main executors of PV and BP, while emerging evidence suggests that macrophages and related cytokines also contribute to these diseases. The roles and functions of macrophages in disease progression are not fully understood, and the current status of clinical trials targeting immune cells in PV and BP is poorly recapitulated. However, this review provides novel insights into the mechanistic understanding and clinical management of PV and BP by summarizing the current knowledge in this rapidly advancing field, with emphasis on immune cell functions and ongoing clinical trials.

Therefore, p-ALG may be a suitable alternative to r-ATG in the conditioning regimen of haplo-HSCT.

Summary: This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the association of HLA class II alleles and PV and to examine the impact of PV-associated HLA class II alleles on the concentration of anti-desmoglein antibodies. The results showed significantly higher frequency of HLA class II alleles in the PV patient group, as well as higher levels of antibodies against desmoglein 3 in patients with the DRB1*04:02 allele. There was no difference in the concentration of antibodies against desmoglein 1 or for the DQB1*05:03 allele. Rating: 8/10.

Adherence to AIT is crucial for long-term success, but measuring adherence and persistence rates has been inconsistent. The development of standardized tools and parameters for measuring adherence in AIT is necessary. Additionally, exploring methods from adherence research in other chronic diseases could help improve outcomes in AIT.

Summary: Positive patch test reactions to Limonene hydroperoxides (Lim-OOHs) and Linalool hydroperoxides (Lin-OOHs) were frequent in consecutive patients, but most of the reactions were weak, doubtful, or irritant in nature. Patients with irritant reactions to sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) were more likely to react to Lim-OOHs and Lin-OOHs. It is recommended to chemically monitor test preparations to reduce irritancy and interpret patch test results carefully.
