Summary: This study evaluated the clinical outcomes and return to sports and work rates in high-risk patients undergoing anatomic lateral ankle ligament reconstruction. The results showed good patient-reported outcomes and high rates of return to sports and work. The study also compared outcomes between different types of tendon autografts.

Summary: This study compared the clinical outcomes of using autografts and allografts for stabilisation procedures in chronic ankle instability patients. The results showed that there was no significant difference between autografts and allografts in terms of postoperative outcomes and patient satisfaction in reconstructing the lateral ligamentous complex of the ankle.

Summary: This retrospective study evaluated the use of allogeneic tendons for the treatment of malunited lateral malleolar avulsion fractures with chronic lateral ankle instability. The results showed that allogeneic tendon reconstruction was safe and effective, leading to improved functional recovery of the ankle joint.

Summary: This retrospective study evaluated the clinical outcomes, return to sport, and recurrence rate after reconstruction of the lateral ligament complex of the ankle with a minimally invasive approach in 47 patients with chronic ankle instability. The results showed favorable clinical outcomes, return to activity, and low recurrence rate at a minimum follow-up of five years, with a procedure survival rate of 95.7%.

Summary: This study compared the clinical and radiological outcomes of the confluent L-shaped tunnel technique with the Y-graft technique for anatomic lateral ankle ligament reconstruction. The results showed that both techniques significantly improved symptoms, ankle function, and radiographic outcomes in patients with chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI) at mid- to long-term follow-up. The confluent L-shaped tunnel technique resulted in lower rates of flexion-extension range of motion (ROM) restriction, while the Y-graft technique showed better pain reduction.

Summary: Anatomical reconstruction of the coracoclavicular and acromioclavicular ligaments using a semitendinosus tendon graft for chronic acromioclavicular joint dislocation treatment showed good clinical and radiographic outcomes at a minimum 2-year follow-up. Time to surgery was found to be independently associated with poorer functional scores. Approximately 13.3% of patients exhibited partial loss of reduction on radiographs.

Summary: The present study aimed to evaluate clinical results and complications of anatomic reconstruction of the lateral ligaments using allograft tendon and suspensory fixation in the treatment of chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI) patients with poor remnant quality. The results showed that this surgical technique was effective for CLAI patients with poor remnant quality, but the common complications included residual discomfort, joint stiffness, and soft tissue irritation.

Summary: This study compared the return-to-activity and long-term clinical outcomes between anatomic lateral ligament reconstruction using the autologous gracilis tendon and modified Brostrom-Gould (MBG) procedure in chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI) patients. The results showed no difference in subjective scores between the two techniques, but the tendon reconstruction group had a lower incidence of postoperative sprain recurrence and longer recovery time for walking, jogging, and return-to-work compared to the MBG group.

Summary: Ankle sprains often lead to chronic ankle lateral instability, and reconstruction of the lateral collateral ligament of the ankle can achieve satisfactory results. Total arthroscopic reconstruction of ankle lateral ligament is increasingly recognized for its minimally invasive and precise characteristics, and has gained good clinical outcomes.

Summary: The study found that patient-reported outcome scores after lateral ankle stabilization in military servicemembers were lower than in civilian population. The addition of fibular periosteum augmentation and whether the procedure was performed by an orthopaedic surgeon or a podiatrist did not affect the outcomes.

Summary: A high-strength Zn-0.8Mn-0.4Mg alloy was developed for ligament reconstruction fixation, showing good biocompatibility and promising osteogenic effect. Compared to Ti6Al4V, the Zn alloy screws significantly accelerated new bone formation and promoted tendon-bone integration in ACL reconstruction, contributing to early joint function recovery and rehabilitation training.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical outcomes of ossicle resection and anatomic ligament reconstruction (ALR) in patients with chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI) with large malleolar accessory ossicles. ALR was found to be a viable option with satisfactory clinical results for patients who have difficulty with the modified Brostrom procedure after ossicle resection.

Summary: The study found that for the treatment of fifth metatarsal base avulsion fractures, tolerated weight-bearing in a hard-soled shoe was noninferior to the use of a short leg cast based on pain scores at 6 months. Patient satisfaction was similar between the two groups, but the hard-soled shoe group had a shorter time to return to preinjury activity.
