Summary: This study found that psychological alterations are common in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and there is often overlap among various psychological factors. Five psychological factors (physical fatigue, GI-specific anxiety, perceived stress, pain catastrophizing, and trait anxiety) were significantly associated with the severity of GI symptoms. An increasing number of these psychological alterations also led to a gradual increase in the overall severity of GI symptoms.

Summary: This study provides evidence that patient-rated needs, especially unmet needs, are strongly associated with perceived psychosocial disability and subjective quality of life of schizophrenia patients beyond symptom severity. Identifying and addressing patient-reported needs could facilitate psychosocial disability and subjective quality of life improvement more effectively than interventions focused solely on symptom remission.

Summary: The study found that treatment with lisocabtagene maraleucel (liso-cel) could significantly improve the overall health status and quality of life of patients with relapsed/refractory LBCL, particularly showing clinically meaningful improvements in fatigue. For treatment responders, the improvement in global health status/quality of life was more significant.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the symptom severity and general health between individuals with PCR confirmed COVID-19 and PCR negative controls. Results showed that symptoms were prevalent in all groups, with the most severe symptoms in subacute phase participants. Loss of smell or taste was the most specific symptom for COVID-19. In PCR positive participants, female gender, older age, and acute illness severity had larger effects on health rating.

Summary: In patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), factors such as female sex, preexisting coronary artery disease, cardiac anxiety, stress from noise, work-related stress, and sleep disturbance are associated with higher symptom severity. Preexisting coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, generalized anxiety, cardiac anxiety, financial stress, and sleep disturbance are associated with impaired health-related quality of life (HRQoL).

Summary: This study aimed to describe the sociodemographic characteristics, social support received, and quality of life of chronically homeless patients with schizophrenia in China. Results indicated that the homeless patients were more likely to live outside the city and be ethnic minorities compared with non-homeless patients. Although the married proportion was higher among homeless patients, they had a higher rate of being divorced or widowed.

Summary: This study aimed to compare clinical symptom severity and quality of life among schizophrenia patients based on their attitudes towards pandemic measures and reported lockdown-related disruption. The results showed that there were no significant differences in sociodemographic and clinical variables, clinical symptom severity, or quality of life between schizophrenia patients with positive attitudes and those without positive attitudes towards pandemic measures. However, guilt feelings and trait anxiety levels were positively related to lockdown-related disruption.

Findings revealed that factors such as cognitive symptoms, depression, fatigue, and work ability significantly influenced employment readiness. Higher skill levels, better social support, and flexible work schedules were found to facilitate the return to work process, while stress, lack of confidence, depression, and fatigue were identified as barriers.

Summary: The study investigated the stability of co-assembling nanoaggregates using a fluorescence resonance energy transfer method, finding that only by simultaneously increasing the hydrophobicity of both camptothecin and curcumin could stable co-assembling NAs be obtained. This highlights the importance of co-assembly and disassembly of NAs formed by various hydrophobic drugs for designing stable co-delivery systems resistant to blood dilution after intravenous injection.

Summary: The aim of this network meta-analysis was to evaluate the comparative effects of neuropsychological interventions for cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) and rank the best intervention options for adult cancer patients. The study found that cognitive behavioral therapies, cognitive rehabilitation, and cognitive training showed statistically significant differences in managing subjective cognition. Meditation or mindfulness-based interventions were the most effective for attention, while cognitive training had the best results for verbal memory and processing speed. Psychoeducation was most effective for executive function, and cognitive training was the best option for verbal fluency. The importance of this study lies in its findings for the management of CRCI in cancer patients.

Summary: This study aimed to examine symptom severity and interference in lung cancer patients treated with PD-1 immunotherapy, explore the clustering of symptoms, and identify factors associated with symptom clusters. The results showed that the overall symptom burden of these patients was mild, and symptom clusters were identified. Summary: This study aimed to develop and validate classification models using machine learning algorithms to predict breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) in Chinese women. The logistic regression model achieved the best performance, and the most important predictors were the number of positive lymph nodes, BCRL occurring on the same side as the surgery, a history of sentinel lymph node biopsy, a dietary preference for meat and fried food, and an exercise frequency of less than three times per week.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the feasibility and validity of a self-administered immersive virtual reality (VR) tool for assessing cognitive impairment in cancer patients. The immersive tool was used to assess attention, verbal learning memory, processing speed, executive function, and verbal fluency through an interactive VR scenario. The results showed a moderate to strong positive correlation between the VR cognition assessment and paper-and-pencil neurocognitive tests, indicating high concurrent validity. The VR-based cognition assessment tool demonstrated feasibility and acceptability for measuring cognitive impairment in cancer patients.
