Summary: It has been demonstrated that niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5) films can be grown directly on fluorine-doped tin oxides (FTO) coated glasses using a simple solvothermal process. The structure and electrochromic properties of the films were investigated, with the best performance achieved at an ethanol volume percentage of 30%. The films prepared with 30% ethanol exhibited the highest optical modulation, stable cyclic performance, and efficient color switching abilities.

Summary: Nanoscale pyrazolate-based coordination polymers have customizable compositions and structures, making them popular as electrocatalysts. However, their low catalytic efficiency and stability make them challenging for use in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). This study successfully prepared polycrystalline nickel-pyrazolate with a unique morphology and investigated its formation process. The resulting electrocatalyst showed promising OER activity, outperforming the benchmark material RuO2. The rich Ni-N-4 moieties in the nickel-pyrazolate were identified as central species providing adsorption sites for OER intermediates.

Summary: In this study, a novel strategy for constructing stable electrocatalysts for high-current-density neutral seawater hydrogen evolution was developed through strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) and incorporation of Pt. The optimized PtNb-Nb2O5@CC exhibited excellent electrochemical performance and durability, and opened up new opportunities for further exploration of SMSI and Pt incorporation in catalytic applications.

Summary: This study focused on the influence of oleic acid on the preparation of NiS and SnS/NiS composites, and characterized their nanostructures and photodiode properties through XRD, Raman, and FE-SEM analysis. The results showed that the addition of oleic acid led to changes in morphology and improved photo-response of the NiS composite particles, which is crucial for photodiode applications.

Summary: This research utilized reactive sputtering to deposit Nb2O5 thin films on the surface of Ti6Al4V alloy, characterized the morphology and structure of the films, and demonstrated through cytotoxicity and biocompatibility tests as well as inflammatory response analysis that Nb2O5 coating improved the material's biocompatibility, reduced toxicity and inflammation induction compared to the base material.

Summary: A novel type of single-layered 2D palmate AT nanosheets was successfully prepared through a solvothermal synthesis process, with detailed morphological and structural characterization. The amination of AT and the introduction of trivalent iron ions were found to play key roles in the transformation of AT nanorods to nanosheets. This unique 2D AT-NS material may have potential important applications and provides a new method for designing and preparing novel materials with 2D structures.

Summary: MXenes, 2D transition metal carbides/nitrides, have shown great potential in fabricating novel composites with interesting photo-/electrochemical properties. A one-pot hydrothermal synthesis method for MXene-based photocatalyst was successfully validated, utilizing the reducibility of Nb2CTx MXene. The chemical valance of the noble metal Ru/Pt obtained by this method was closer to the metal state, significantly reducing the charge transfer resistance and leading to efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production.
