Summary: Recycling phosphorus fertilizers from biogas digestates in agricultural production can help reduce resource consumption and promote environmental sustainability, which is crucial for future supply. Results show that these recycled phosphorus fertilizers have equivalent or even superior fertilizing properties compared to chemical synthetic fertilizers, and can be effectively applied in different soil conditions.

Summary: This study evaluated the impacts of phosphorus fertilizer sources and rates on maize growth and the bioavailability of cadmium. The results showed that MAP and DAP had positive effects on plant growth and yield characteristics of maize in different soil textures. The accumulation and uptake of cadmium in soil were also significantly influenced by phosphorus sources, levels, and soil texture. Therefore, the type of phosphorus fertilizer should be chosen based on soil texture and the human consumption of the crop to avoid cadmium toxicity.

Summary: This study investigates the remediation of uranium contamination in alkaline soil by using different solubility phosphorus fertilizers. The results show that water-soluble phosphorus fertilizers, KH2PO4 and Ca(H2PO4)2, effectively immobilize uranium and reduce its bioavailability in soil. Pot experiments demonstrate that soil remediation with KH2PO4 promotes crop growth, particularly root growth, and reduces uranium uptake in crops. The immobilization of uranium by KH2PO4 is attributed to the release of phosphate anions, forming stable minerals and enhancing the binding of uranium to soil Fe-Mn oxides.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of peach branch derived fertilizer (PB), cow manure derived fertilizer (CM), and silicon liquid fertilizer (Si) on the growth and Cd uptake of Spinacia oleracea L. in Cd contaminated soil. Results showed that PB and CM significantly increased shoot dry mass and reduced shoot Cd accumulation, while Si had no effect on plant biomass but reduced root Cd uptake. CM also significantly decreased soil-available Cd.

Summary: This study tested three phosphorus fertilizers recycled from biogas digestates and found that they are effective alternatives to mineral TSP for maize cultivation under acidic and neutral soil conditions. In neutral soil, organic P fertilizers increased maize biomass by almost double compared to TSP, and in acidic soil, they increased the phosphorus concentration and total phosphorus content in maize plants. The growth of ryegrass was not affected by any phosphorus fertilizers, indicating that weed control does not need to be changed with recycled P fertilizers.

Summary: Excessive fertilizer usage can limit soil biological processes in pastures, especially those related to arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. This study examined the effect of fertilizers with different P solubility on AM fungal colonization in the roots of two common pasture plants. The results showed that both fertilizers reduced the proportion and length of roots colonized by AM fungi, but the reduction was more pronounced in subterranean clover compared to annual ryegrass. The diversity indices of AM fungi were also altered, with the chemical fertilizer having a greater negative effect on the diversity of annual ryegrass roots. The findings suggest that different P fertilizers can influence the efficacy of fertilization and dominant plant species in grasslands.

Summary: The application of manure and straw increases Olsen P and phosphorus activation coefficient (PAC) in soil. Understanding the increasing trend of Olsen P and PAC is important for proper fertilization. This study analyzed the equation between accumulated P surplus, Olsen P, and PAC in different treatments for 28 years. The results showed linear increases in Olsen P and PAC with NPK and NPKS treatments, while sigmoid curves were observed with M and MNPK treatments. High interpretation rates for Olsen P and PAC were found for Al-P, Ca-2-P, Resin-P, NaOH-P-i, C/N, SOC, and pH. Manure was more effective than straw in improving Olsen P in red soil, but long-term manure application should be reduced to prevent zero growth in Olsen P.

Summary: In calcareous soils, phosphorus availability is limited due to its precipitation as dicalcium and octacalcium phosphate. This study found that phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) significantly improved maize yield and phosphorus availability when applied with soluble and insoluble phosphorus sources. The best results were obtained when 50% of phosphorus was from farmyard manure (FYM) and single super phosphate (SSP), along with PSB inoculation.

Summary: Improper disposal of poultry litter can lead to water eutrophication due to its high phosphorus content. Recycling phosphorus from poultry litter to produce organomineral fertilizer reduces dependence on finite mineral phosphorus reserves and minimizes phosphorus losses from soil. Field experiments showed that applying granular poultry litter-derived organomineral fertilizer had similar effects on maize and soybean as single superphosphate, but demonstrated higher relative agronomic effectiveness based on shoot dry weight.

Summary: This study evaluated the use of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and digital images for modeling the prediction of Al, Ca, Fe, Mg, and P contents in mineral fertilizer samples. The modeling strategies of matrix-matching calibration (MMC), multiple linear regression (MLR) using only LIBS data, and data fusion (LIBS + digital image) were compared. The results showed that data fusion had higher predictive capacity than MMC and MLR (LIBS data only), with a reduction in root mean square error (RMSE) values by 17% to 80%, indicating improved accuracy.

Summary: In this study, a cryogenic electrical-substitution radiometer was utilized for the primary calibration of monochromatic photon beams at a synchrotron facility, in order to determine the intrinsic efficiency and dead layer thickness of an HPGe detector. This calibration method allowed for the calculation of efficiency up to 55 keV, where the active thickness of the detector is not a determining factor. Geometrical efficiency was also determined through measurements of a radioactive source at various distances.

Summary: The leakage neutron spectra of Lead samples were measured using a TOF technique, and MCNP simulations with different nuclear data libraries showed that JENDL-5.0 and JEFF-3.3 libraries have better agreement with experimental data. Differences in spectra mainly stem from variations in neutron reaction channels across the libraries, with ENDF/B-VIII.0 and CENDL-3.2 libraries being overestimated in certain energy ranges.

Summary: In gamma-ray spectrometric measurements, the decision threshold is determined by the observed value of the measurand. However, this dependence restricts its application to measurements with non-expressive indications. To address this issue, a recalculation of the decision thresholds based on the peak widths corresponding to expressive indications is proposed.
