Summary: According to a study from 1970 to 2018, Greenland has had one of the highest suicide rates in the world since 1980, with an average of 96 suicides per 100,000 people annually. The suicide rate has been declining since the 1980s but remained high at 81.3 suicides per 100,000 people annually from 2015-2018. The decrease in male suicides and the increase in female suicides, particularly using violent methods, are notable trends.

Summary: The wound healing process is often hindered by bacterial infections, leading to impaired healing. The use of adhesive hydrogels with natural antibacterial agents as wound dressings has been recognized as an effective treatment. This review summarizes studies on ingredients, preparation methods, antibacterial mechanisms, and internal factors of adhesive hydrogels, providing insights and prospects for their biomedical applications and clinical research.

Summary: This study examined the longitudinal trends of prescription opioid use in the USA from 1999 to 2018, considering the influences of age, period, and cohort. The results showed that prescription opioid use increased throughout the lifespan, with a greater increase observed from young adulthood to mid-adulthood. Youngest baby boomers had higher prescription opioid use, while more recent-born cohorts had lower use.

Summary: This study analyzed the antibiotic prescription rate in low-risk patients evaluated at a telemedicine program with antibiotic stewardship protocols. The results showed that using telemedicine consultations with stewardship protocols can achieve a low antibiotic prescription rate and high adherence to international guidelines and institutional protocols.

Summary: The study investigated the concentrations and geographical patterns of PCBs and OCPs in reindeer muscle samples from 10 grazing districts in Norway, revealing generally low concentrations. Geographical patterns, age, and sex played roles in the concentrations measured. Overall, reindeer meat is unlikely to be a significant contributor to the human body burden of persistent organic pollutants.

Summary: From 1988 to 2012, there was a persistent decrease in gastric cancer incidence rates worldwide. However, it is predicted that by 2030, the incidence rates will continue to decline or remain stable in most countries, except for Ecuador and Lithuania, where the rates are expected to increase substantially.

Summary: This study investigated the aerosol inhalation delivery of ceftriaxone in mice. An ultrasonic nebulizer was used for inhalation experiments, and pharmacokinetic measurements were carried out to determine the concentration of ceftriaxone in blood serum and its mass in the lungs. The results showed that aerosolized ceftriaxone exhibited high antibacterial efficiency in treating infected mice.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate antibiotic resistance patterns and detect carbapenemase genes in uropathogenic bacilli. The majority of isolates were sensitive to fosfomycin and carbapenems, but resistant to cephalosporins and nalidixic acid. Carbapenemase genes were detected in a higher proportion of carbapenem-resistant isolates than in sensitive isolates.
