Summary: In this study, homogeneous thin films of chitosan-PADA dye were deposited on glass substrates using spin-coating method. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy and UV-VIS spectroscopy were performed to characterize the films, revealing hydrogen bonding and the formation of surface relief grating (SRG). AFM confirmed the existence of SRG and measured the grating depth.

Summary: The study found that the NAT2 genotype has an impact on the N-acetylation and genotoxicity of MOCA, indicating that individuals with the NAT2*7B genotype are more susceptible to MOCA-induced mutations, DNA damage, and oxidative stress. These results also confirm significant genotoxic differences between the NAT2*5B and NAT2*7B alleles associated with the slow acetylator phenotype.

Summary: A novel molecular diagnostic method was developed for highly efficient detection of gram-negative bacterial pathogens in challenging samples with low abundance and nucleic acid amplification inhibitory factors. The method utilized magnetic nanoparticles for bacteria enrichment and DNA extraction, resulting in improved DNA yield and quality for enhanced qPCR signal. Evaluation using various gram-negative bacteria showed successful detection and potential application for urinary tract infection diagnosis.

Summary: This study developed and validated a UV-Vis spectrophotometric method for the quantitative determination of Memantine hydrochloride. The UV inactive molecule Memantine (MMT) was first derivatized through a conventional diazotization reaction and coupled with N,N-dimethyl aniline (DMA) to form the MMT-DMA complex, which exhibited a characteristic absorbance maximum at 354 nm. The method showed convenience over previous methods with instantaneous reaction, facile synthesis, and high sensitivity. It was successfully applied for the quantitative determination of marketed pharmaceutical formulations.

Summary: Schiff base crystal of 2-Methoxy-N-[4-(dimethyl amino) benzylidene] aniline (2MDA) was synthesized through condensation reaction and optically good quality single crystals were obtained after 7 days of slow evaporation process. Various characterizations confirmed the formation of the title Schiff base, and comparisons with previous reports indicated the formation of the 2MDA crystal. The crystal showed transparency in the range of 480-1100 nm and emitted red light at 625 nm, making it suitable for optical and opto-electronic applications.

Summary: Four ionic mononuclear organic-inorganic hybrid metal halides were synthesized using (E)-N,N-dimethyl-4-(2-(pyridin-4-yl)vinyl)aniline as the organic source, metal halides ZnX2 and CdX2 as the inorganic source, and concentrated HX (X= Cl, Br) to provide an acidic medium. The compounds exhibited blue phosphorescence with different emission peaks, Stokes shifts, full widths at half maximum, and luminescence lifetimes, attributed to the synergistic action of organic cations and inorganic anions in the crystal structures.
