Summary: This study found that individuals with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) have higher levels of hsCRP, and these differences are significantly correlated with the severity of clinical symptoms and the number of tender points. Additionally, weight is an important factor affecting hsCRP levels.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the association between Indigenous Australians and higher coronary inflammation using pericoronary adipose tissue attenuation. The results showed that Indigenous men had increased pericoronary adipose tissue attenuation, suggesting a potential link to coronary inflammation. Larger studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This study confirms that hs-CRP is an independent predictive factor of poor prognosis in patients with MAFLD, with hs-CRP level greater than 0.5 mg/dl being associated with increased risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, and malignant neoplasms related mortality.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a novel modified lymphocyte C-reactive protein (CRP) score (mLCS) to predict 3-year mortality in elderly patients undergoing intertrochanteric fracture surgery. The mLCS was found to be a promising predictor for predicting the 3-year mortality in these patients.

Summary: In this study, a highly sensitive fluorescence sensing platform was designed by utilizing colloidal quantum dots-metal nanoparticles hybrid system to enhance the fluorescence intensity, overcoming the low sensitivity issue caused by commonly used fluorescent materials. The designed platform showed significant improvement in sensitivity compared to the traditional metal nanoparticles free sensing platform, with a wide detection range and low detection limit.

Summary: The study reports the synthesis of citric acid-functionalized ultra-fine bimetallic PtRu alloy nanoparticles (CA@PtRu ANPs) using a simple wet chemical method for the development of a non-enzymatic colorimetric immunoassay for quantifying C-reactive protein (CRP) biomarkers. The developed immunoassay showed rapid and sensitive quantification of CRP levels from 0.01 to 180 μg mL(-1) with a LOD of 0.01 μg mL(-1), indicating potential for rapid point-of-care applications.

Summary: The study examines a score based on baseline CRP and fibrinogen values in GBM patients and finds that a high FC score is associated with shortened overall survival. This score could serve as an independent predictor of OS in GBM, highlighting the importance of further investigating the role of inflammation in prognosis prediction.

Summary: This study evaluated the ability of CAR to predict outcomes in patients undergoing pancreatic cancer resection. Eight studies with a total of 1056 patients were identified. Higher CAR values were found to be independent and significant predictors of poor overall survival in these patients. However, the determination of an optimal cut-off value for CAR is currently unclear due to heterogeneity in reporting.

Summary: A highly sensitive protein MIPs biosensor was developed for the selective recognition of human C-reactive protein. The biosensor combined conductive and biocompatible graphdiyne nanosheets, antifouling MIPs, and utilized dopamine as a functional monomer. The biosensor showed excellent selectivity, reversibility, reusability, as well as good antifouling ability, sensitivity, and stability.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of rifaximin on liver functional reserve and serological inflammation-based markers in patients with cirrhosis. The results showed that rifaximin significantly improved hepatic encephalopathy grades, serum ammonia levels, and inflammation-based markers within three months. Improvement in serum albumin levels was associated with higher CRP improvement rates, and improvement in CRP levels at three months was associated with significant improvement in Child-Pugh score at 12 months. Rifaximin improved liver functional reserve by improving inflammation-based markers, particularly CRP and albumin.

Summary: The study demonstrates that a proteome-based risk model outperforms a clinical risk model in predicting recurrent ASCVD events. Neutrophil-related pathways were associated with cardiovascular events in low CRP patients, indicating residual inflammatory risk beyond traditional pathways.

Summary: Children who experience physical abuse from their parents are more likely to have elevated levels of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), with a positive correlation between the severity of violence and hs-CRP levels. This suggests that parental violence may have a negative impact on children's health, influencing inflammatory processes even at an early age.

Summary: A study on the distribution and determinants of serum high-sensitive method CRP levels among the Ethiopian population found that the distribution is comparable to other studies. Higher BMI, living in Somali and in Dire Dawa region, and not consuming fruits or vegetables were identified as independent risk factors for high hsCRP levels.
