Summary: A systematic review on subacute combined degeneration (SCD) due to B12 deficiency identified potential prognostic indicators related to final ambulatory function. Initial ambulatory function may serve as a clinical marker of spinal cord dysfunction severity and ultimate functional outcome. Additionally, intensive B12 replacement regimens could improve ambulatory function in advanced SCD cases.

Summary: This study mapped a probabilistic brainstem nuclei atlas to high-resolution and diffusion weighted imaging in living humans, exploring the structural connectome of autonomic, pain, limbic, and sensory brainstem nuclei. Results demonstrated high intercommunity communication among these nuclei, with good translational capability of the 7 Tesla connectome to clinical datasets. Validation of the structural connectome through building connectivity diagrams and inspecting specific links provides a baseline for future studies on the functions of these nuclei.

Summary: Radical cystectomy in people with spinal cord injury (SCI) presents additional challenges, and it is important to have information from an experienced team for optimal management. This study recorded and evaluated surgical procedures and clinical data from 12 cases of radical cystectomy in SCI patients with bladder cancer. A checklist based on the surgeon and neuro-urologist's experience was developed.

Summary: The study found that CMT1A patients had significantly higher fat fraction and larger cross-sectional area of the sciatic nerve compared to controls. The cross-sectional area at level 3 correlated positively with CMTNSv2, suggesting its potential as an imaging marker for clinical severity.

Summary: This case study discussed a young male patient with vitamin B12 deficiency, whose initial B12 levels were normal but other indicators like methylmalonic acid levels and MRI confirmed the diagnosis. The patient's symptoms improved with treatment, emphasizing the importance of recognizing vitamin B12 deficiency in patients of all age groups.

Summary: This prospective study investigated the neurologic problems caused by vitamin B-12 deficiency in infants. The study found that most infants with vitamin B-12 deficiency had abnormal neuroimaging findings, with thinning of the corpus callosum and prominence of extra-axial spaces being the most common. The odds of abnormal neuroimaging findings were higher in children below 12 months, in females, and in patients with developmental regression, but none of them were statistically significant.

Summary: This study investigated the neuroplasticity of the adult visual cortex in glaucoma patients using fMRI and neural modeling. The results showed differences in fMRI signals and population receptive fields (pRFs) between glaucoma patients and controls, with these differences correlating with disease severity. Additionally, glaucoma patients exhibited local pRF shifts and enlargements in early visual areas. These findings are important for understanding the mechanisms of visual impairment in glaucoma patients.
