Outcomes of surveillance versus adjuvant treatment for patients with stage-I seminoma: a single-center experience

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of treatment options on the prognosis of stage-I testicular seminoma patients. The results showed that adjuvant therapy did not significantly improve disease-free survival compared to active surveillance. Furthermore, lymphovascular invasion was identified as an important prognostic indicator for determining the treatment strategy and prognosis.

Summary: In this study, the clinical characteristics and oncological outcomes of patients with CSIS were assessed. Data from five tertiary referring centers in Germany were analyzed, identifying 43 out of 2616 TGCT patients as CSIS. The correct classification of cCSIS was crucial in guiding treatment and achieving a 5-year relapse-free survival rate of 88.9%.

Postoperative ctDNA detection predicts relapse but has limited effects in guiding adjuvant therapy in resectable stage I NSCLC

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the role of ctDNA detection in estimating prognosis and guiding adjuvant therapy (ADT) for resectable stage I NSCLC patients. The results showed that ctDNA-negative patients had a significantly lower risk of recurrence compared to ctDNA-positive patients, but there was no difference in the risk of death between the two groups. In the ctDNA-positive group, there was no significant difference in relapse-free survival (RFS) between patients who received ADT and patients who did not receive ADT. However, in the ctDNA-negative group, patients who received ADT had a worse RFS compared to those who did not receive ADT. Therefore, ctDNA detection can serve as a prognostic marker for predicting recurrence but has limited efficacy in guiding ADT for resectable stage I NSCLC.

The results showed that LDR-BT was associated with lower rates of biochemical relapse and metastases compared to HF-EBRT, indicating better tumor control.

Prostate or bone? Comparing the efficacy of image guidance surrogates for pelvis and prostate radiotherapy using accumulated delivered dose

Summary: The study assessed the impact of dosimetry to both the target and normal tissue when using bony anatomy (BA) or prostate (PRO) as surrogates for image guidance for pelvis and prostate radiotherapy. The results showed minimal deviation from the planned dose for pelvic lymph nodes and prostate when using either BA or PRO, but greater deviation for rectum when BA was used.
