Summary: This paper argues that the theory of innovation needs to incorporate the concept of creativity, rather than merely focusing on knowledge creation. The importance of factors other than knowledge, such as entrepreneurship, serendipity, and imagination, has been highlighted in management science, economic geography, and sociology of innovation. Creative cities are not solely knowledge-based territories, and policy design and development strategies also require creativity to address issues effectively.

Summary: The rise of university-wide entrepreneurship education (EE) programs in China has been witnessed in the past two decades, with a focus on the 'Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation' strategy introduced in 2014. However, there are several key issues and challenges in implementing these programs, including concerns about legitimacy, varied models of EE development, a lack of entrepreneurship faculty staff and experts, and a lack of cooperation among stakeholders. To overcome these challenges and promote sustainable EE programs in China, an interdisciplinary development of EE and active engagement of various stakeholders is recommended.

Summary: This paper proposes a conceptual framework that highlights the importance of a historical cultural environment based on scientific knowledge and creativity in driving long-term regional entrepreneurship and innovation. Empirical testing in Italy supports this framework and demonstrates that the cultural environment indirectly impacts regional growth through its effects on entrepreneurship and innovation. Historical scientific knowledge, indicated by the presence of universities, and past creativity, indicated by the presence of scientists and inventors, positively influence long-term regional entrepreneurship and innovation. Regions with higher levels of entrepreneurship and innovation experience faster growth compared to other regions. Additionally, entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in strengthening the positive impact of innovation on growth.
