Summary: Pt/SrTiO3(STO)/LaNiO3(LNO) and Pt/STO/Pt structures were fabricated on Si substrates using sol-gel method. Dielectric tunability characteristics of these two structures are investigated over temperature range of 300-80 K. STO prepared on LNO exhibits better crystallinity and dielectric tunability than that prepared on Pt. Furthermore, LNO/STO/LNO structure exhibits similar tunability, lower tan delta, higher figure-of-merit (FOM) values, and better tunability symmetry compared with Pt/STO/LNO structure, demonstrating the better performance of LNO electrode than conventional inert metal electrodes.

Summary: In this study, ZrTiO2 dielectric thin films were successfully deposited on p-Si(100) substrate using sol-gel spin coating technique. The rotational speed was found to significantly influence the structural, optical, and dielectric properties of the TZO films. After annealing, the packaging density and surface roughness of the TZO films were observed to increase, along with an increase in physical thickness, refractive index, and dielectric constant. Furthermore, the interface quality at TZO/Si stacks was notably improved in annealed TZO devices.

Summary: Iron oxide nanopowders were synthesized via a Solution Combustion Synthesis (SCS) method using sol-gel compositions with iron nitrates and soluble organic reducing agents. The combustion regime was found to affect phase formation, morphology, color, and dielectric properties of the powders, with preferred morphology and high dielectric properties achievable using urea as a fuel.

Summary: The effect of nanosized CoTiO3 additive on the desorption behavior of LiAlH4 was investigated for the first time in this study. The addition of CoTiO3 improved the desorption behavior of LiAlH4, reducing the desorption temperature and increasing the desorption rate. The experimental results suggest that the CoTiO3 additive promoted notable advancements in the desorption performance of LiAlH4 through the in situ-formed active species.

Summary: We report our study of cobalt (II) titanate, CoTiO3, in which magnetic Co ions are replaced by non-magnetic ions. The antiferromagnetic ordering transition of CoTiO3 and the effects of magnetic dilution on the Neel temperature are investigated. The results show a linear relation between dilution and the Neel temperature, and the required dilution level to suppress magnetic order exceeds the classical percolation threshold.

Summary: A robust catalytic membrane (FCTSM) was constructed by uniformly growing Fe-doped CoTiO3 on a SiO2 fiber membrane, allowing for fast liquid transport and efficient organic pollutant degradation. The membrane exhibited great water wettability, low energy consumption for water transport, high rejection of oil in emulsions, and decent catalytic degradation properties under gravity-driven permeation. This work not only provides insight into multifunctional membrane design but also advances the potential applications of heterogeneous catalytic oxidation in environmental remediation.

Summary: In this study, F, Cl, and Ga co-doped ZnO films were deposited on a glass substrate using the sol-gel spin-coating method. The effects of F-doping content on the structural, morphological, electrical, and optical properties of the films were investigated. The F, Cl, and Ga co-doped ZnO film with a doping ratio of 2% showed the best photoelectric performance, with high transmittance and a wide optical band gap.

Summary: This paper presents the fabrication of novel electrochromic films by sol-gel spin coating of nickel (Ni) and tunable cobalt (Co) atoms. The doping ratio of Co atoms was adjusted to improve the particle size, band gap, conductivity, and response time of the films. The Ni-Co oxide film showed reduced particle size, enhanced conductivity, and improved electrochromic properties, with shorter switching time and higher coloring efficiency, thanks to the incorporation of Co atoms. The proposed film holds great promise for electrochromic applications.

Summary: This study compares the dielectric properties of BaSnO3 ceramics and thin films in terms of structure, morphology, frequency (20 Hz-1 MHz), and temperature (30℃-300℃). BaSnO3 solution was prepared using the sol-gel method, and thin films were deposited by spin-coating on substrates. Both ceramics and films showed a pure BaSnO3 phase with a cubic structure according to the X-ray diffraction spectra. The sintering temperature was adjusted to improve the crystalline quality of the ceramics. SEM photos confirmed the high quality of the film surface, with an average roughness of 1.8 nm measured by AFM. The dielectric constant (epsilon') at room temperature was found to be around 17 for ceramics and 13 for thin films at 1 MHz. The dielectric properties of BaSnO3 ceramics could be successfully replicated on thin films using a cost-effective deposition method.

Summary: Although TiO2 is a popular semiconductor photocatalyst, its efficiency for solar energy conversion is limited due to its large bandgap. This paper introduces a cost-effective Sol-Gel technique using spin coating technology to fabricate nanocrystalline TiO2 thin films. The authors managed to achieve a dopant-free pure anatase nanocrystalline TiO2 thin film with a low band gap. Thorough investigations on the film's structure, optical characteristics, and surface morphology were conducted and presented.

Summary: Orthorhombic Sc2Mo3O12 films were successfully prepared via spin coating technique followed by annealing at 500-750 degrees C. The crystallinity of the films improved with higher post-annealing temperatures, demonstrating stable negative thermal expansion properties. The coefficients of thermal expansion in different directions were also determined, showing the overall shrinkage and expansion of the thin film.

Summary: In this study, barium titanate powders were synthesized using sol-gel and sol-precipitation methods. The microstructural and dielectric properties of the samples prepared by both methods were compared. The sol-gel derived samples exhibited an increase in the tetragonal phase and dielectric constant with increasing temperatures, while the sol-precipitation derived sample was cubic. The presence of BaCO3 was more evident in the sol-precipitation derived sample, and the band gap of the products did not show significant variation with the synthesis method.
