NiO/MWNTs nanocomposites have been prepared by a simple and efficient chemical precipitation method with the aid of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). Hybrid materials were characterized by XRD, TEM, EDX, Zeta potential and FT-IR techniques. Experimental results show that NiO nanoparticles with the size of less than 9 nm are well-dispersed on the outside of MWNTs functionalized with SDS. Hydrogenated NiO/MWNTs hybrid materials exhibit good catalytic performance in the benzene hydrogenation reaction.
