Summary: The optical and structural properties of methylamine lead bromide (MAPbBr3) single crystal (SC) were investigated and the optical and dielectric parameters were studied using Kramers-Kronig (KK) equations. The optical phonons of MAPbBr3 SC were found to be associated with the optical interaction with lattices in the visible region. The third-order nonlinear coefficients of MAPbBr3 were measured using the Z-scan method, showing a high third-order nonlinear response and self-defocusing phenomena.

Summary: Nonlinear responses in transport measurements are linked to material properties not accessible at linear order due to distinct symmetry requirements. Recent experiments on ultrathin WTe2 demonstrate the connection between crystal structure and nonlinear response. Theory predicts that another intrinsic band geometric property, the Berry-connection polarizability tensor, may give rise to higher-order signals.

Summary: We propose a rigid-flexible synergistic strategy for the syntheses of ferrocene-functionalized indium-based metal-organic frameworks (In-MOFs) through introducing rigid carboxylic acids as auxiliary ligands. The large cations are used to induce flexible 1,1 '-ferrocene dicarboxylic acid (H(2)FcDCA) in a controllable coordination mode to construct target frameworks. A series of In-MOFs based on the H(2)FcDCA ligand have been successfully synthesized using this strategy. The introduction of rigid OX2- ligands and large cation template leads to the syntheses of various In-MOFs with good third order nonlinear optical properties and redox activity.
