Summary: This review examines the effectiveness of eHealth weight loss interventions for adults with low income and the strategies used to tailor them. The results suggest that eHealth interventions can lead to modest weight reductions, but the evidence is limited. Further research is needed to determine the effectiveness of eHealth interventions in this population.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a hypocaloric diet under hospitalization in obese patients. The results showed that the diet led to weight reduction and improvements in blood biochemistry parameters, while not affecting muscle mass, liver, and thyroid profiles. Lower insulin levels and higher serum calcium and potassium levels were predictors of weight loss.

Summary: The ongoing weight loss trial comparing daily caloric restriction to intermittent fasting in overweight or obese adults found significant improvements in clinical health measures and altered composition and diversity of fecal microbiota in the first three months. Significant associations were observed between gut microbiota features and clinical measures such as weight and waist circumference. Differences in the relative abundance of Akkermansia were also seen between the intervention groups.

Summary: This study systematically reviewed the predictors of body weight loss and weight loss maintenance in children and adolescents after behavioral weight loss intervention. The results showed that genetics and blood parameters were significant predictors in physiology, while behavior and environment factors were less investigated.

Summary: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and cancer. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an intensive lifestyle program in reducing the prevalence of MetS in adults with obesity. The results showed that implementation of the IGOBE program resulted in a significant reduction in MetS prevalence and better control of MetS features compared with the standard of care.

Summary: The aim of this study is to identify factors that predict weight loss success for diet interventions that vary by macronutrient and caloric composition. Completion of the intervention was found to be the most robust predictor of weight loss success, and other factors included age, physical activity level, blood leptin level, blood pressure, and the amount of weight loss occurring. Differences in cardiometabolic risk factor reduction were observed among different diet types. These findings provide evidence for more precise and personalized approaches to diet intervention for weight loss and cardiometabolic health.

Summary: This three-arm randomised controlled trial found that a multi-component weight loss intervention could effectively reduce total energy and sodium intake and increase fruit intake in adults at six months. However, at twelve months, the enhanced intervention group showed significant improvements in dietary intake compared to the traditional group.

Summary: Middle-aged obesity and aging cachexia pose challenges to healthcare. The role of Ucn2 in middle-aged obesity and aging cachexia was studied, and it was found that age-dependent changes in Ucn2 may contribute to these conditions. Ucn2 showed potential in preventing middle-aged obesity.

Summary: Selective cleavage of C-C bonds in lignin at ambient temperature was achieved using a HAT-DSPEC system, which combines a dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical cell with a hydrogen atom transfer mediator under redox-neutral conditions. The system demonstrated excellent efficiency and selectivity in the cleavage of the C(aryl)-C(alkyl) bond under solar irradiation.
