Summary: A novel series of dendritic compounds with peripheral pyrene groups and a porphyrin core were synthesized and characterized in this study. Metallation with Zn(II) and Mg(II) resulted in red shifts in the Soret absorption band and blue shifts in the emission band for the dendritic porphyrins, with all compounds exhibiting high energy transfer efficiency.

Summary: New porphyrin-Schiff base conjugates containing one (6) and two (7) basic amino groups were synthesized, allowing easier access to porphyrins substituted with positive charge precursor groups in aqueous media. These compounds showed red fluorescence emission and were able to photo-oxidize amino acids, with enhanced photodynamic inactivation capacity when combined with iodide anions. The presence of basic aliphatic amino groups in these porphyrins provided an amphiphilic character, improving their interaction with cell walls and photocytotoxic activity against microorganisms.

Summary: This paper analyzes the dynamic impedance of end-bearing pile groups embedded in homogeneous unsaturated soil subjected to vertical harmonious load. By decoupling the control equations and deriving various parameters, the vertical dynamic impedance of pile groups is obtained, and the proposed analytical solution is verified.

Summary: The researchers transformed chiral monomeric copper clusters into enantiomeric pairs of supercrystals, resulting in a red-shift of the absorption band edge by over 1.3 eV and achieving photoluminescence and circularly polarized phosphorescence from visible to near-infrared. These supercrystals exhibited high near-infrared quantum yields of up to 45% at room temperature and were prototyped for night-vision imaging. By responding to solvent and temperature stimuli, the chiral supercrystals underwent transformations with high-contrast optical/chiroptical switching.

Summary: This study demonstrates the design of a system that can switch reversibly between two common monomeric folds through temperature changes. It shows that a latent 3 α state can be unmasked from an α/(3-plait topology with a single amino acid substitution, with both forms coexisting. The equilibrium between these two states is temperature-dependent, with the 3 α state predominant at 5°C and the α/(3-plait fold the major species at 30°C.

Summary: In this study, a flexible dynamic color display with multimode reversible switching between transparent and colorful states was designed by integrating RPCs and QDs. The display was fabricated by encapsulating colloids with specific structure and obtaining an elastic thin film. It exhibited high transparency in the normal state, but showed obvious color change under mechanical stimuli or UV exposure. The display also demonstrated the ability to display joints motion amplitudes of human body and had applications in advanced security.

Summary: This study reports a new flexible one-dimensional coordination network that exhibits reversible adsorption properties and good hydrolytic stability. The kinetics of this material compares favorably with well-studied rigid water sorbents. Additionally, a polymer composite of this material retains stepped adsorption profile and high water uptake capacity.

Summary: In this study, new acceptor compounds with perylene diimide core structures and different end group units were synthesized and tested for their application in organic photovoltaic devices. The intensity of intramolecular charge transfer and absorption bands were enhanced by fusing dithiophenepyrrole moieties to the perylene diimide dimers. The research found that altering the end groups of the acceptor molecules can significantly affect the optical characteristics and power conversion efficiency of the devices.

Summary: A series of hydroxyl-terminated polyethylenes with various functional side groups were synthesized using a combination of ROMP and visible light photocatalytic thiol-ene reaction. The study explored the relationship between the structure of side groups and the thermal properties of the functional PEs, showing poor thermostability but promising applications. The functional PEs can be used as smart materials with pH-responsive properties, macro-initiators for triblock copolymers, and plasticizers for PVC.
