Summary: In this study, a highly stereo-selective P(NMe2)3 mediated intramolecular deoxygenative umpolung cascade Michael addition-initiated cyclopropanation with a diverse substrate adaptability is disclosed. This methodology allows for the expedient access to valuable 6,5,3-fused scaffolds having an all-carbon quaternary stereocenter via Kukhtin-Ramirez (K-R) adduct formation, with excellent diastereoselectivity and yields under metal-free ambient conditions. Few functional group transformations have also been successfully performed, and an asymmetric catalytic attempt using (R)-(+)-H8-BINOL has delivered good enantioselectivity.

Summary: The stereoselective synthesis of optically active cyclopropylsilanes was achieved in excellent yields and diastereo- and enantioselectivities with Ru(II)-Pheox catalysts. Among these catalysts, p-MeO-Ru(II)-Pheox was found to be the best for cyclopropanation reactions. The derivatives of cyclopropylsilanes could be transformed into beneficial building blocks for the synthesis of bioactive compounds.

Summary: In this study, we report a highly selective P(NMe2)3 mediated intramolecular deoxygenation reaction which exhibits excellent substrate adaptability. This methodology provides a convenient access to valuable 6,5,3-fused scaffolds with an all-carbon quaternary stereocenter via Kukhtin-Ramirez (K-R) adduct formation, achieving high diastereoselectivity and yields under metal-free ambient conditions. Furthermore, successful functional group transformations and enantioselective catalytic attempts have been achieved using (R)-(+)-H8-BINOL.

Summary: Here, we report a practical copper-mediated direct intramolecular cyclopropanation of distal olefinic acetate to synthesize cyclopropane-fused gamma-lactones and lactams. This cascade reaction proceeds through a hydrogen atom transfer-induced radical cyclization and copper-mediated cyclopropanation sequence. The protocol features high atom- and step-economy, excellent diastereoselectivity, broad tolerance of functional groups, and operational simplicity.

Summary: Attaching a nitrene precursor to an intramolecular nucleophile enables a catalytic asymmetric intramolecular oxyamination of alkenes, producing chiral compounds with high yields and excellent enantioselectivities. This method provides access to versatile chiral building blocks and introduces a new strategy for nitrene-mediated asymmetric intramolecular olefin difunctionalization.

Summary: A simple and broad-scope rhodium(I)/chiral diene catalytic system was developed for challenging asymmetric intramolecular cyclopropanation of various tri-substituted allylic diazoacetates. The low coordination state Rh-I-complex exhibited high tolerance to substitution of the allyl double bond, enabling the efficient construction of penta-substituted, fused-ring cyclopropanes with three stereogenic centers in a highly enantioselective manner. DFT calculations suggested that pi-pi stacking interactions between the aromatic rings of the chiral diene ligand and diazo substrate played a key role in controlling the reaction enantioselectivity.

Summary: Asymmetric catalysis using a chiral (Salen)Mn(III) complex has been successfully applied to highly enantioselective intramolecular haloamination reactions of alkenes. Experimental results suggest that the polarization of the C5-C6 bond has a significant effect on the regioselectivity of the products.

Summary: A chiral ruthenium catalyst was introduced with a combination of ligands and metal center to achieve enantioselective catalysis. Non-racemic chiral metal complexes were successfully synthesized by selecting specific chiral auxiliary ligands. The resulting chiral-at-metal catalyst demonstrated high catalytic activity and satisfactory enantioselectivity for asymmetric cyclopropanation reactions.

Summary: The silver-catalyzed intramolecular formal [2 + 2]-cycloaddition of alkyne-tethered cyclohexadienones allows for the synthesis of tricyclic fused cyclobutenes and dihydrofurans. The reaction can be controlled by the electronic properties of the alkynes, with electron-rich alkynes leading to cyclobutenes and electron-deficient alkynes forming dihydrofurans. Additionally, the synthetic potential of this method was demonstrated through gram-scale reactions and various transformations on the cyclobutene products.

Summary: A readily accessible bis-dianionic beta-ketoiminato octalithium complex was found to be a versatile catalyst for the hydroboration of a wide range of unsaturated compounds. Chemoselectivity experiments revealed that the current catalytic system follows the reactivity sequence of aldehydes > ketones > imines > esters > nitriles > amides.

Summary: A practical method for the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation/dynamic kinetic resolution of N-Boc 3-fluoro-dihydrotetrahydroquinolin-4-ones into the corresponding cis-fluoro alcohols is reported. The reaction achieved high yields, up to 99:1 diastereomeric ratio (dr), and up to >99% enantiomeric excess (ee) by using a ruthenium complex and a formic acid/triethylamine mixture under mild conditions.
