Psoriasis severity classification based on adaptive multi-scale features for multi-severity disease

Summary: This study proposed a novel method for evaluating psoriasis, which improves the evaluation performance of various types of psoriasis, including multiple-severity diseases, by detecting representative regions and extracting severity features. The results showed that EfficientNet B1 with MS-DAM exhibited the best classification performance, with over 5% higher accuracy than six existing self-attention methods. Using the gradient-weighted activation mapping method, it was confirmed that the proposed method works at par with human visual perception.

Traditional treatment benchmark is PASI 75 response, but recent therapeutic advances have made PASI 90 or PASI 100 responses possible. This study evaluated the impact and social value of different PASI responses, showing that PASI 90 or PASI 100 responses have a lower economic impact and greater social value compared to PASI 75 responses in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis.

Summary: Psoriasis is a systemic immune-mediated disease associated with increased risk of multiple comorbidities. With the introduction of biological agents, the efficacy and safety of psoriasis treatments have greatly improved. Different classes of drugs, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitors, interleukin-17 inhibitors, and small-molecule inhibitors, have been approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis. These drugs not only target psoriasis but also have significant effects on its comorbidities. Understanding the characteristics of these drugs can provide personalized care for patients with distinct comorbidities.

Psoriasis severity: commonly used clinical thresholds may not adequately convey patient impact

HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP): Knowledge, attitudes and counseling practices among physicians in Germany - A cross-sectional survey
