Trends in mortality rates for oral and oropharyngeal cancer in Spain, 1979-2018

Antonio Jose Duran-Romero, Pedro Infante-Cossio, Jose Juan Pereyra-Rodriguez

Summary: This study analyzed mortality rate trends for oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancer (OCOPC) in Spain from 1979 to 2018. The results showed a decline in mortality rates for oral cavity cancer (OCC), while rates for OCOPC increased slightly and rates for oropharyngeal cancer (OPC) increased significantly. The highest mortality rates for OCC and OPC were observed between 1979 and 1992. Age, period, and cohort analyses revealed an increase in mortality rates for certain age groups.

Long-Term Effectiveness and Safety of Biologic and Small Molecule Drugs for Moderate to Severe Atopic Dermatitis: A Systematic Review

Angela Ayen-Rodriguez, Jose-Juan Pereyra-Rodriguez, Francisco J. Navarro-Trivino, Sara Alcantara-Luna, Javier Dominguez-Cruz, Manuel Galan-Gutierrez, Samuel Vilar-Palomo, Jose Carlos Armario-Hita, Ricardo Ruiz-Villaverde

Summary: This study reviewed clinical trials of biological drugs for the treatment of moderate and severe atopic dermatitis. The study found that Upadacitinib had the best improvement in Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI 75), and adding TCS further improved its efficacy. This study is important for the development of management guidelines for new generation therapies for atopic dermatitis.

Juan-Carlos Hernandez-Rodriguez, Cristina Garcia-Munoz, Juan Ortiz-Alvarez, Francesc Saigi-Rubio, Julian Conejo-Mir, Jose-Juan Pereyra-Rodriguez

Summary: Digital strategies have a higher dropout rate in the prevention of skin cancer interventions, but there is no significant difference compared to other interventions. Standardization is needed in reporting the number of and reasons for dropouts.

Treatment of severe atopic dermatitis with tralokinumab in clinical practice: short-term effectiveness and safety results

Jose-Juan Pereyra-Rodriguez, Pedro Herranz, Ricardo Ruiz-Villaverde, Marta Elosua-Gonzalez, Manuel Galan-Gutierrez, Ignasi Figueras-Nart, Javier Miquel, Pablo de la Cueva, Esther Serra-Baldrich, Monica Munera-Campos, Gemma Mele-Ninot, Vicente Exposito-Serrano, Bibiana Perez, Amalia Serrano, Javier F. Ortiz de Frutos, Jose C. Armario-Hita

Summary: In a multicentre retrospective study, tralokinumab treatment showed significant improvement in patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD), with a 70% improvement in Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) score, 64% improvement in SCORing Atopic Dermatitis, and 57% improvement in peak pruritus numerical rating scale. The response rate was higher in patients naive to biologics or Janus kinase inhibitors. The safety profile was acceptable.

Upadacitinib for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis

Francisco Navarro-Trivino, Sara Alcantara-Luna, Javier Dominguez-Cruz, Manuel Galan-Gutierrez, Ricardo Ruiz-Villaverde, Jose-Juan Pereyra-Rodriguez, Jose-Carlos Armario-Hita

Summary: Upadacitinib 30 mg is superior to the 15-mg dose without significantly increasing the rate of adverse events or their severity. The response observed with upadacitinib at both doses, 15 and 30 mg, at 16 weeks is virtually unchanged at week 52.
