Summary: The immune microenvironment differs between primary colon tumors and liver metastases, with more immunosuppressive cells in the liver potentially explaining why immunotherapy is less effective in colorectal cancer with liver metastases.

Summary: By analyzing data from 606 patients with colon cancer, we identified two distinct immune patterns and established a prognostic model based on immune-related genes, as well as a nomogram model to predict survival. These models can help guide treatment and risk stratification for patients with colon cancer.

Summary: This study aims to systematically clarify the profile and prognostic value of circulating lymphocyte subsets in colon cancer patients. The results showed that BRAF mutant patients had significantly lower levels of CD3+T cells, CD4+T cells, NK cells, and B cells compared to BRAF wild-type patients, while the CD8+T cells were lower in the KRAS mutation group than the KRAS wild-type group. High CA19-9, KRAS/BRAF gene mutation, and left-sided colon cancer were poor prognostic factors, while higher levels of ALB and NK cells were protective prognostic factors. Circulating NK cells were identified as an independent prognostic factor for colon cancer.

Summary: The SALVE Histopathology Group developed and validated a grading and staging system for alcohol-related liver disease (ALD) and evaluated its prognostic utility in a multinational cohort of 445 patients. The system showed significant associations with disease activity and fibrosis stage, impacting both long-term and short-term outcomes in ALD patients.

Summary: A proportional hazard model was used to develop a prognostic model and nomogram for colon cancer liver metastases (CLM), incorporating clinicopathological characteristics and histological type. The study identified prognostic predictors for CLM patients and constructed a nomogram with strong prediction power, outperforming the traditional TNM system.

Summary: The association between metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) and colorectal cancer (CRC) was evaluated in this study. The results showed that both NAFLD and MAFLD were significantly associated with a higher risk of developing CRC, and the presence of advanced liver fibrosis further increased the risk.

Summary: The objective of this study was to identify prognostic factors of overall survival in patients with non-resectable synchronous metastatic rectal cancer. Six independent prognostic factors associated with better overall survival were identified, and a scoring system was proposed to classify patients into three prognostic groups.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between the degree of liver metastasis from gastric cancer and prognosis, using a classification similar to that of liver metastasis from colorectal cancer, and established a simple and easy-to-use prognosis prediction index for patients with these conditions.

Summary: Colon cancer is a common type of cancer, and radiomics, as a non-invasive imaging tool, can help oncologists reduce arbitrary decisions by analyzing preoperative medical images to predict patient prognosis and properly stratify high-risk colon cancers.

Summary: This study aims to identify the prognostic signature of cuproptosis-related lncRNAs and explore their potential molecular functions in colon cancer. The results show that these signatures can more accurately predict patient survival and there are significant differences between the two groups of patients in terms of immune response and drug sensitivity. In addition, the inhibition of two lncRNAs verified in in vitro experiments can significantly suppress the proliferation of colon cancer cells.

Summary: Sex and RAS mutational status have an impact on the prognosis of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. Right-sided colon cancer is associated with shorter overall survival, especially in men. RAS mutations are significantly associated with shorter survival in men, while no such association is observed in women. This study highlights the importance of gender in the prognosis of patients with mCC.

Summary: The International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) revised the Gleason system in 2005 and 2014, resulting in improved prediction of prostate cancer death. The inclusion of cribriform patterns as Gleason 4, as well as the presence of comedonecrosis, HGPIN, and higher percentage of cores with cancer, further enhance the discrimination of prostate cancer death.
