Summary: This research aims to analyze the anxiety level and precompetitive self-confidence of tennis and padel players and examine the influence of gender and competitive level in each sport. The findings indicate that padel players have higher self-confidence compared to tennis players, and female tennis players have higher precompetitive anxiety levels than male players, whereas the opposite is observed in padel. U14 players demonstrate the highest self-confidence and lowest precompetitive anxiety levels. Overall, this study highlights the importance of precompetitive anxiety as a key psychological variable in relation to sport performance, which can vary based on gender and competitive level.

Summary: This research examines the interplay between the mental health and mental performance of Canadian national team athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings suggest that factors such as social and environmental restrictions, psychological challenges, and public health measures have impacted athlete mental health. However, athletes with prior good mental performance skills were found to be more equipped to cope with these challenges, leading to better mental health outcomes. The pandemic also provided an opportunity for athletes to take a break from training and competition, allowing them to rest and enjoy life outside of sport. The study highlights the need for more mental health resources and better access to practitioners supporting mental performance and mental health in the Canadian sport system.

Summary: The intensity of culture shock when an individual moves from one environment to another depends on the cultural differences, individual's experience and multi-cultural skills, and the locals' behavior. Individuals who move to another new environment may suffer culture shock again, but experience can help them manage new situations. Culture shock has different stages and duration, and interestingly, individuals may suffer reverse culture shock when they return to their home environment. Adapting to a new cultural context involves overcoming culture shock and it influences the psyche of individuals.

Summary: This study examined the impact of imagery ability on heart rate reactivity and stress perception. The results showed that imagery ability moderated the relationship between heart rate reactivity and interpretation of stress and perceived physiological arousal. Individuals with higher imagery ability perceived stress and arousal as more beneficial for performance. Additionally, imagery ability predicted lower perceived stress intensity and physiological arousal intensity.
