Summary: This study presents the geophysical measurements and interpretations of two contrasting rock glaciers in the Chilean Andes. The results confirm significant differences in hydrological roles between intact and relict rock glaciers, and propose a diagnostic model to differentiate between them.

Summary: The study analyzed the carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios of copepods and SPOM samples collected from different sites in the tidal estuaries of Maryland, revealing that the isotope values of copepods are influenced by their location and food sources.

Summary: A wave-dominated delta depositional model is characterized by the combined action of riverine-induced processes and sediment reworking by waves and currents. The results of the study indicate distinct sedimentological signatures associated with riverine-inner shelf processes and episodic or responsive events. The spatial influence of riverine plume dispersion/deposition and marine processes on delta-associated inner shelf deposits is also evident.

Summary: Recent research has found that sedimentological information in barrier-island environments can provide more detailed interpretations of past coastal environments than interpretations based on foraminifera. This study aims to investigate whether targeted documentation of modern foraminifera in specific coastal environments can lead to more precise paleoenvironmental reconstructions. The findings show that modern foraminiferal assemblages can distinguish different coastal subenvironments, and these findings can be applied to interpret Holocene paleoenvironments. The research highlights the importance of foraminifera in understanding coastal environments and offers a methodology applicable to other coastal settings.

Summary: This study investigated the temporal and spatial patterns of microphytobenthos (MPB) in a Pacific Northwest estuary with complex environmental gradients. The research found that MPB biomass and diatom assemblage composition varied between sites and seasons, with different relationships with environmental variables. Despite the complexity in understanding these relationships, the study suggests that tidal flat diatoms can serve as indicators of estuarine environmental conditions.

Summary: The basin analysis from Colombian Caribbean focuses on finding hydrocarbon reservoirs. The sedimentological and ichnological analysis in the Oligocene siliciclastic succession reveals a complex sedimentary system with dominant lithologies such as conglomerates, sandstones, mudrocks, bioclastic sediments, and coal beds. The evolution of the system throughout the Oligocene shows a coarsening-upward trend with a variety of ichnological assemblages.

Summary: Coastal archives provide records of changing hydrometeorological conditions, including mineralogical anomalies. This study presents a database of magnetic susceptibility measurements from beach and dune lithosomes in the Western Estonian archipelago, which can be used to assess the impact of wave and wind climate changes as well as extreme events.
