Summary: Surgery is shown to have a high cure rate for prolactinomas, especially in female patients with microadenomas. Surgical treatment and female gender are independent positive predictors of a cure at 5 years follow-up, and postoperative serum prolactin levels within 24 hours are crucial for predicting cure.

Summary: The long-term safety and efficacy analyses of patients with acromegaly treated with pegvisomant from the ACROSTUDY demonstrate overall favorable benefit-to-risk profile and high efficacy of PEGV. IGF1 normalization rate improved over time, with fewer complications such as abnormal liver function and pituitary tumor growth.

Summary: In this study, [18F]AlF-NOTA-JR11 was synthesized and directly compared with [18F]AlF-NOTA-octreotide as SSTR PET probes for neuroendocrine tumor (NET) imaging. The results showed that [18F]AlF-NOTA-JR11 had higher cell binding, but similar pharmacokinetics and tumor uptake compared to [18F]AlF-NOTA-octreotide. Rating: 6/10

Summary: This case report highlights the risk of pituitary apoplexy in an endocrinologically silent adenoma during lanreotide administration. The patient, previously diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, developed pituitary apoplexy after two years of lanreotide treatment. The tumor was confirmed as a pit1-lineage plurihormonal adenoma and expressed somatostatin receptor 2. These findings suggest that lanreotide treatment increases the risk of pituitary apoplexy, even in asymptomatic adenomas.

Summary: The study found that the most common phenotype in elderly patients newly diagnosed with acromegaly includes small adenomas and moderately high IGF-1 levels. GH <= 6 ng/ml at diagnosis and female gender, rather than age per se, were associated with a greater chance of response to SRL.

Summary: Molecular imaging plays a crucial role in neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN). By using a radiotracer, specific features of the tumor can be visualized. Somatostatin receptors are the most commonly targeted hormone receptors, while alternatives include glucose metabolism, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptors, and C-X-C motif chemokine receptor-4. There are also promising new radiopeptides awaiting further evaluation.

Summary: In normal ovarian responders, the GnRH antagonist protocol showed lower clinical pregnancy rates and lower incidences of moderate and severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome in fresh transfer cycles compared to the depot GnRH agonist protocol. However, in frozen-thawed transfer cycles, both protocols had similar clinical pregnancy rates. Further large-sample, prospective, randomized, and controlled studies are needed to confirm these results.

Summary: The recovery patterns of hormonal profiles after short-term (12 weeks) neoadjuvant ADT differ between GnRH antagonists and GnRH agonists. The choice between these drugs matters and may have a clinical impact depending on the primary objective of ADT.

Summary: Leuprolide treatment in mice exerts sex-specific effects on behavior and brain activity, with males showing increased hyperlocomotion and changes in social preference, while females exhibit increased hyponeophagia and despair-like behavior. Neuronal hyperactivity in the dentate gyrus of leuprolide-treated females may contribute to the observed behavioral changes. Investigating these effects in mice will be crucial for understanding potential consequences of GnRH agonist treatment for adolescents with gender dysphoria.

Summary: This study shows that tirzepatide, through dual activation of GLP-1R and GIPR, is highly effective in treating type 2 diabetes and obesity. It predominantly stimulates insulin secretion through GLP-1R in mouse islets, but enhances hormone secretion through both incretin receptors in human islets.

Summary: This study compared the use of GnRH agonist trigger after PPOS and GnRH antagonist ovarian stimulation cycles. The results showed that PPOS cycles had higher yields of mature oocytes and remaining blastocysts, but the cumulative ongoing pregnancy or live birth rates were similar between the two groups.

Summary: This review aims to explore the latest research on lactotroph and somatotroph pituitary neuroendocrine tumors, the molecular mechanisms involved in PRL and GH axis regulation, and the signaling pathways involved in their aggressiveness, particularly focused on mammosomatotroph and mixed subtypes. Furthermore, the epidemiological, clinical, and radiological features of these exceptional tumors are summarized to shed light on new perspectives and scientific gaps in this field.

Summary: In patients with suboptimal ovarian response, the CLBR of the GnRH-antagonist protocol was lower than that of the GnRH-agonist protocol, but there was no significant difference in CLBR between the two protocols in other patients. After balancing and adjusting for confounders between the groups, the results suggested that the GnRH-agonist protocol had a higher CLBR in patients with suboptimal ovarian response.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize patients with suboptimal response to GnRH-agonist trigger in IVF cycles, finding that patients with suboptimal response had higher number of follicles and peak estradiol levels before trigger. Furthermore, no differences were observed in oocyte recovery rate, maturity, or embryo quality between different trigger groups.
