Summary: This study investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying the toxic effects of TAC on the liver and kidney using an integrative omics approach. The results showed that TAC caused metabolic disturbances in oxidant-antioxidant balance, lipid and amino acid metabolism, as well as dysregulation of immune response, inflammatory signals, and programmed cell death. Joint-pathway analysis revealed disruptions in DNA synthesis, oxidative stress, cell membrane permeabilization, and lipid and glucose metabolism as key factors contributing to the toxicity of TAC.

Summary: This study identified markers for detecting adulteration in goat milk using proteomics and metabolomics methods. SCGB1D, uric acid, and N-formylkynurenine were found to be potential markers at different adulteration levels. These findings can aid in assessing the authenticity of goat milk.

Summary: Liver transplantation is the most preferred treatment option for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis. Immunosuppression is necessary post-transplant to improve prognosis and prevent rejection. Recent research compared the effectiveness and tolerability of sirolimus and tacrolimus in liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma, providing valuable information for clinicians to make treatment decisions.

Summary: The validated LC-MS/MS method for the quantification of immunosuppressants using DMPD as a sampling strategy was shown to be fit for the intended purpose without clinical influence of Ht on the results. This study offers a simple and effective approach for immunosuppressant quantification using DBS.

Summary: Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is associated with biological processes such as mitochondriogenesis, reproduction, growth, and aging, and can attenuate clinically relevant dysfunctions related to ischemia, inflammation, and lipotoxicity. As an enzymatic cofactor or accessory factor, PQQ modulates lactate acid and other dehydrogenases to enhance NAD+-dependent sirtuin activity and mediate mitochondrial functions.
