Summary: This study develops an agent-based model to investigate the competition among multiple automated mobility-on-demand (AMoD) operators. The findings show that an optimal assignment algorithm can reduce waiting time and a larger fleet may increase demand but lead to longer waiting and travel times. Pricing strategies significantly affect customer choice, with time-dependency. The study provides recommendations for government and service operators.

Summary: This study analyzes the consumer preferences for alternative fuel vehicles in South Korea and finds that a reduction in purchase price can significantly boost the sales of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The perceived environmental and economic benefits are also important factors. Additionally, potential car buyers who plan to buy one vehicle within one year show the least preference for purchasing battery electric vehicles.

Summary: This study proposes a conceptual model of rumor spreading and rebuttal strategy, taking into consideration forgetting, and constructs a mathematical model at the individual level from a competitive innovation diffusion perspective. The results of comprehensive simulation experiments using a Java-based Agent-based Modeling approach indicate that both rebuttal strategy and rebuttal forgetting can affect the process and outcome of rumor spreading and control, and there are complex interactions among different factors.

Summary: As the market penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) increases, there is a need for an efficient deployment strategy of electrical vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) to avoid overloading the power grid and disrupt infrastructure planning. This study addresses the EVSE problem by simulating public charging demand and optimizing charging station locations. The study uses an agent-based modeling approach to generate high-resolution daily driving profiles and applies a location model to reallocate existing charging stations to maximize coverage of charging demands under constraints. The framework provides practical support for future public EVSE installation.

Summary: This study establishes an agent-based model to capture the dynamic interactions among EV adoption decisions, EV charging activities, and charging infrastructure investment and operation. Empirical data from Beijing is further applied to calibrate and validate the model before conducting simulation experiments to examine the effectiveness of financial subsidies and environmental factors for resolving the dilemma. The findings suggest that subsidy strategies within a reasonable range can help escape the dilemma, while significant changes in external factors may shed light on tackling the dilemma.

Summary: This paper explores the usage of agent-based modeling in large event halls evacuation during music festivals and cultural events. It proposes an adapted cone exit approach to facilitate the guidance of the agents in the model and compares its advantages with the classical cone exit approach. Different evacuation scenarios are simulated and analyzed to observe the capabilities of evacuation modeling in emergency situations. The visual interface of the agent-based model allows for the identification of factors that may contribute to a prolonged evacuation process and potential measures to ensure a safe evacuation process.

Summary: In this paper, a comprehensive agent-based model is developed for community resilience planning. The model incorporates agents representing businesses, healthcare systems, and people, along with agents for education systems, utilities, and households, to simulate the Centerville testbed subjected to tornado hazards. The model introduces resilience measures and evaluates various strategies for pre-disaster preparedness. The results demonstrate the capability of the model to capture the complex behaviors and dynamics of interdependent systems within a community, as well as assess the impact of disruptions and mitigation strategies for community planning.
