Summary: Using multiple measurement techniques ensures reliable interpretation of sample changes during heating, eliminating uncertainty and improving data interpretation. This paper briefly characterizes thermal analysis techniques coupled with spectroscopic or chromatographic techniques. Various design solutions for coupled thermogravimetry (TG) with infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), mass spectrometry (MS), and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) systems are discussed. The importance of coupled techniques in pharmaceutical technology is highlighted, as they provide insights into the behavior and degradation of medicinal substances during heating, allowing determination of decomposition mechanisms and prediction of shelf life and storage conditions. In addition, design solutions for interpreting differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) curves using observation or simultaneous recording of FTIR spectra and X-ray diffractograms (XRD) are characterized, addressing the inherent non-specificity of DSC.

Summary: The microwave-assisted solvothermal method was used to prepare lanthanide (III) complexes with N,N'-dimethylformamide (DMF), which contain DMF and water molecules in their structures. The complexes exhibit varying thermal stability, with solvent molecules being removed in a more complex manner, especially in heavy lanthanide complexes. Their thermal stability is higher in a nitrogen atmosphere. The thermal decomposition of the complexes was investigated through TG-FTIR methods, showing the evolution of volatile products such as DMF, H2O, CO2, CO, and CH4 during heating.

Summary: The pyrolysis and combustion processes of camphor biomass waste were studied using DSC/TGA-DTG/GC-MS/FTIR, with non-isothermal kinetics investigated under different heating rates. The results indicated different phases of mass loss, accompanied by exothermic and/or endothermic reactions.Activation energies for main mass losses in the second phase were determined to be 39.98-56.25 and 109.26-135.84 kJ/mol, respectively.

Summary: The reaction between 2,4-difluorobenzoic acid and 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine with Ln(NO3)(3)center dot 6H(2)O via slow evaporation produced a series of new binuclear lanthanide complexes, which were characterized by various techniques. The complexes showed two structural types, and thermal decomposition as well as the luminescent property of one complex containing Eu(III) were studied in detail.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized microspherical and nanocomposite materials of dihydroxylammonium 5,5'-bistetrazole-1,1'-diolate (TKX-50) and analyzed their catalytic activity in thermal decomposition. The results showed that the composites could lower the decomposition temperature of TKX-50 and inhibit the generation of harmful gases.

Summary: The impact of different synthetic procedures on the structure and thermal properties of coordination polymers of 1H-pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxylic acid with lanthanide ions was investigated. The complexes exhibited high yields of reactions and crystallinity. The Eu(III), Tb(III), and Er(III) coordination polymers prepared under different conditions were found to be isomorphous, while only the neodymium(III) compounds had a different crystal structure. The thermal stability of the produced complexes was correlated with the synthesis conditions, with those prepared under hydrothermal conditions showing the highest stability.

Summary: The thermo-oxidative characteristics and kinetics of HQ heavy oil were studied using TG-DSC-FTIR-MS technique. The oxidation reactions of HQ heavy oil were divided into low temperature oxidation, fuel deposition, and high temperature combustion stages. The reaction mechanisms were analyzed using FTIR and MS analysis. The obtained data provide important references for understanding crude oil oxidation mechanism and simulating ISC processes accurately.

Summary: This study synthesized transparent glass ceramics doped with Sm3+ ions in BiPO4 nanocrystals, analyzing their thermal stability and crystalline phase. FTIR was used for structural unit validation, while Judd-Ofelt theory was applied to obtain spectral intensities and optical parameters, studying the influence of alkali and alkaline earths metals on Sm3+ excited levels. SrF2 glass ceramics showed promising properties in optical devices for visible laser applications compared to other glass networks and ceramics.

Summary: A new high-temperature ternary Cr(III) phase (Wuboraite, CaAl2Cr2IIIO7) was synthesized in the Al2O3-CaO-Cr2O3 system. The formation and chemical transformation mechanism of Wuboraite have not been explored in detail. Through solid-state reaction using XRD, TG-DSC, XPS, and leaching tests, the system between 500 and 1600 degrees C under air and argon atmosphere was investigated. Wuboraite formation starts at different temperatures (-1500 &-1100 degrees C) under different atmospheres (air and Ar), with intermediate compounds CaCrVIO4 and CaCr2IIIO4 playing a crucial role in wuboraite conversion.
