Summary: A systematic study was conducted on the influence of gas flow rate on helium dielectric barrier discharge. The study focused on the relationship between gas flow rate and impurity level, as well as the consequent changes in discharge operation. The results showed a non-linear decrease in impurity concentration with increasing gas flow rate. Changes in electrical properties, such as breakdown voltage and current density, were observed with the gas flow. The study also revealed a change in excitation mechanism with variation in gas flow. The decrease in impurities was found to be the main mechanism behind the changes in discharge behavior.

Summary: In this study, deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is applied to determine the suction flow rate on a circular cylinder model in a wind tunnel, aiming to minimize aerodynamic forces while considering energy dissipation efficiency. A surrogate model is employed to optimize the reward function and hyperparameters, significantly reducing the experimental training cost of DRL.

Summary: This study explores the existence of striations in a low pressure krypton plasma and distinguishes between mobile and immobile striations using experimental analysis with AC current. The manifestations of striations are observed and recorded with a high-speed camera, providing insights into the inhomogeneous aspect of discharge in krypton lamps. Spectroscopic and electrical measurements are also considered to study the behavior, energy deposit characteristics, and luminous efficiency of the discharge.

Summary: This study investigates the aeroelastic stability of a pyrotechnic separation plate in axial subsonic airflow. The dynamic model of the plate is established based on the linear potential flow theory and the von Karman plate theory. The results show that the plate loses stability rapidly when subjected to an explosion, but can restore stability under negative pressure. The study also observes a displacement jumping phenomenon and highlights the potential damage to the structure due to the rapid increase in plate amplitude.

Summary: This study proposes a novel type of Enhanced Active Resonant (EAR) DC Circuit Breakers (DCCBs) that use a discharge closing switch as interruption medium. The study introduces a new commutation process that allows decoupling of the minimum voltage from the current level by adjusting the triggering delay, greatly improving the reliability of the circuit breaker's operation.

Summary: Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD)-biochar sequential batch experimental technology was used to degrade atrazine (ATZ) in soil. DBD treatment increased the hydrophilicity, particle size, and instability of soil particles, leading to the exposure of residual ATZ. Biochar introduction compensated for the shortcomings of sole DBD treatment and enhanced ATZ removal efficiency. Proposed ATZ degradation mechanisms included various reactions, such as dealkylation, dechloro-hydroxylation, and alkylic-oxidation.

Summary: Rice is one of the most important food crops in China, but its cleaning performance is affected by high moisture content during harvesting. In this study, the method of hot airflow cleaning and the influence of temperature and vibration frequency on dispersion characteristics in an air-and-screen cleaning device were investigated. The results provide guidance for the cleaning of wet rice threshed mixtures in combine harvesters.

Summary: This paper presents a mathematical modeling and theoretical instability analysis of an inverted cantilevered plate under the influence of cracks and subsonic axial flow. The numerical analysis reveals that the critical flow speed decreases significantly with an increase in the crack flexible coefficient. The change in critical dynamic pressure and instability modes of the cracked plates has been theoretically analyzed and expressed in terms of the crack parameters. This modeling and analysis strategy has potential applications in other engineering problems involving plate-like systems with inverted configurations and discontinuities.

Summary: This paper experimentally studies the effects of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuators (PAs) on the leakage flow structures and loss in a turbine cascade. The results show that the DBD plasma actuators can weaken the strength of the tip leakage flow near the casing, and this effect is influenced by the actuation strength and attack angle.

Summary: Traditional liquid electric discharge machining emits a large amount of carbon, while electric discharge machining in gas, or dry EDM, offers possibilities for sustainable development. This study focuses on the servo control of dry EDM to improve discharge stability and machining efficiency. By comparing different control strategies, significant improvements were obtained in terms of discharge ratio and machining efficiency. The study also analyzed the servo characteristics under different gas media and proposed an optimization scheme. Experimental results confirmed the effectiveness of the servo strategy and the matching characteristics of different media and servos in EDM.

Summary: The surface charges in nanosecond pulsed dielectric barrier discharge under quiescent air and airflow were detected based on the Pockels effect of electro-optical crystals. In quiescent air, the surface charge spot propagates and moves in a certain direction due to the combination of the transverse electric field and thermal accumulation. The position of the surface charge spot remains fixed throughout a single discharge cycle (0.83 ms), and noticeable decay of surface charges occurs over time. When airflow is introduced, the propagation and movement of surface charges are accelerated, leading to changes in discharge mode and charge distribution.

Summary: The experimental study on desulfurization and denitrification using a DBD reactor combined with a wet scrubbing tower showed high desulfurization efficiency (97-100%) and variable denitrification efficiency (12-96%) under different operating conditions. The key problem lies in denitration, with factors such as DBD power, simulated flue gas flow rate, NaOH solution concentration, spray density, packing type, and packing height influencing denitrification efficiency.

Summary: The effect of argon and oxygen gases, as well as treatment times, on the properties of modified bamboo fibers using DBD plasma were investigated. Plasma treatment with inert gases generated ions and radicals on the fiber surface. Different spectroscopy and microscopy techniques confirmed changes in chemical composition, crystallinity, and surface roughness. Mechanical properties of the fiber-reinforced epoxy composites showed different trends with different plasma treatments and treatment times.
