Summary: Dental implantation is the best solution for tooth loss, but its health and stability are global public health concerns. Probiotics have the potential to promote dental implant health by promoting bone tissue homeostasis, inhibiting pathogens, and modulating immune-inflammatory levels.

Summary: This study evaluated the association between peri-implant bucco-lingual dimension (BLD) and the occurrence of biological and esthetic complications. It found that in scenarios with thin buccal bone wall, major dimensional changes and bone loss are more likely to occur, leading to complications. Therefore, careful assessment of BLD is necessary before implant placement. Additionally, augmenting buccal bone wall defects can enhance tissue stability.

Summary: This article summarizes the similarities and differences between periodontal diseases and peri-implant diseases in terms of pathophysiology, clinical features, and etiology. Studies have shown that peri-implant mucositis leads to a more severe inflammatory response and higher frequency of bleeding sites compared to periodontitis. Additionally, tissue destruction is more pronounced in peri-implantitis compared to periodontitis. However, from a pathophysiological standpoint, human periodontitis and peri-implantitis are distinct entities. Therefore, accurate diagnosis and management of peri-implant diseases require knowledge of their underlying mechanisms.

Summary: This study assessed the long-term efficacy of reconstructive treatment of peri-implant intraosseous defects, and the results showed that using bovine-derived xenograft (BDX) resulted in more predictable outcomes over 5 years compared to autogenous bone graft (AB).

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of aging on the changes in implant stability over time following implant placement. The results showed that the stability of implants in elderly patients is not related to age, but rather to the engagement of the implant with the bone.

Summary: Dental implants are considered a reliable routine procedure for replacing missing teeth, but the presence of peri-implantitis has become a concern due to its negative impact on patients' quality of life. The surgical therapeutic modalities for managing this disorder include indications, contraindications, complexity, predictability, and effectiveness.

Summary: This study evaluated radiographic bone level (RxBL) at dental implants in Spain, finding significant associations between RxBL and clinical output variables as well as potential predictor variables such as smoking habits, implant diameter, years of follow-up, and type of prosthesis. Peri-implant RxBL ranged from 0 to 13.17 mm, demonstrating its importance in implant success and maintenance.

Summary: Peri-implant diseases are inflammatory infections caused by oral bacteria. Mechanical debridement is the standard management approach, and photodynamic therapy is gaining attention as an adjunctive treatment.

Summary: After 3 years of follow-up, implants placed concomitantly with tSFE and lSFE fully maintained peri-implant bone support. Peri-implant mucositis was the most prevalent condition, with a similar prevalence between groups.

Summary: Infections around implants can be classified as marginal peri-implantitis, retrograde peri-implantitis, and lateral peri-implantitis. This report presents a case of lateral peri-implantitis successfully treated with guided bone regeneration, resulting in favorable clinical and radiographic outcomes for 2 years.

Summary: The study suggests that early bone loss is a predictor for long-term peri-implant pathology, especially when the early bone loss exceeds the thresholds of 0.5 and 1 mm, leading to a significant increase in the risk of peri-implantitis.

Summary: The study evaluated the prevalence of peri-implantitis in implants inserted in augmented maxillary sinuses and found that a history of periodontitis, sinus elevation with a lateral approach, and one-stage sinus floor elevation were significantly correlated with the occurrence of peri-implantitis.

Summary: Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a method used to treat bone defects at peri-implantitis sites, involving the placement of bone-filler particles and the use of a barrier membrane. The effectiveness of different GBR-supported treatments and their superiority compared to non-GBR treatments remains unclear. This analysis evaluates the long-term clinical efficacy of GBR-supported surgical therapy for peri-implantitis-related bone defects.

Summary: The aim of this review was to analyze treatment options for peri-implant bone regeneration in the presence of severe bone loss. The review found that deproteinized bovine bone mineral was the best material for defect regeneration, and vertical bone regeneration was reported favorably using autogenous bone. The use of membranes in guided bone regeneration was shown to have improvements, but systemic antibiotics did not have a positive effect.

Summary: Horizontal soft and hard tissue dimensions were similar among different treatment groups, with an inverse correlation between horizontal mucosal thickness and bone thickness observed at sites treated with implantoplasty, while a positive correlation was found at sites treated with regenerative therapy.
