Summary: Collaborative care is considered best practice in mental health care and has been applied in high-performance sport to address athletes' mental health needs. However, the process of collaboration in the sport setting has not been well-documented. This case study explored a novel interdisciplinary approach used in the Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport (CCMHS) to provide mental health care to clients. The study found that collaboration was influenced by factors such as the online platform and tools used by CCMHS, individual practitioner and team characteristics, as well as logistical challenges and client characteristics. The study highlights the benefits and challenges of providing collaborative care and suggests areas for further research to optimize collaborative mental health care in sport.
