Summary: The study evaluated the detection of spindle cells (SCs) in peritoneal washings during laparoscopic and open myomectomies. Results showed that SCs were observed in both groups, indicating that the dissemination of SCs may be related to the manipulation of myomas.

Summary: This study evaluated and compared the perioperative and reproductive outcomes of mini-laparotomy (MLPT) and laparoscopic (LPS) myomectomy. A systematic search of relevant articles yielded nine studies involving 1723 patients. The results showed that LPS had shorter hospital stay, lower blood loss, shorter duration of ileus, and fewer episodes of postoperative fever compared to MLPT. However, there was no significant difference in reproductive outcomes. In conclusion, LPS seems to be a safe and reliable surgical procedure for uterine leiomyoma treatment and offers improved outcomes in the perioperative period.

Summary: The present study evaluated the 1-year clinical and radiological outcomes of uterine artery embolization (UAE) performed on women with symptomatic myomas who do not wish to conceive. The study confirmed the safety and efficacy of UAE in treating symptomatic fibroids in pre-menopausal women with no desire to conceive.

Summary: The study aimed to characterize the timing, risk factors, and symptoms leading to repeat surgery in women undergoing abdominal myomectomy for symptomatic large fibroid uterus. Results showed that 12% of patients required reoperation due to recurrent fibroids, with an average age of 44.1 years and a mean time between surgeries of 7.9 years. Data suggests that intraperitoneal triamcinolone may reduce reoperation rates but does not impact the timing of recurrence. Further research is needed to determine if triamcinolone can alter fibroid recurrence in patients undergoing uterus-sparing procedures.

Summary: The study proposed a prognostic index (PI) model for predicting the long-term recurrence risk of uterine leiomyoma (UL) after myomectomy. The model categorized patients into low-risk, intermediate-risk, and high-risk groups based on PI values, with significant differences in recurrence risk observed between these groups in both internal and external validation groups. The model proved to be effective in predicting UL recurrence after myomectomy.

Summary: Uterine myomas are common benign tumors in female reproductive organs, with various epidemiological risk factors such as nutrition and dietary habits identified as potential contributors to their development. Studies have shown that low intake of fruits, vegetables, and vitamin D, as well as exposure to food pollutants, may increase the risk of myoma growth, highlighting the importance of further research to fully understand the impact of nutrition on myoma pathogenesis.

Summary: This study reported a case series of life-threatening anemia caused by uterine fibroids and genital bleeding. The cases showed the clinical course and treatment methods for this condition. The most important risk factors were found to be the patient's mental, social, and personal factors.

Summary: This study investigates the feasibility of using histotripsy, a non-invasive, non-thermal focused ultrasound ablation method, to ablate uterine fibroids. Results show that histotripsy is capable of fibroid ablation under certain pulsing parameters, achieving different degrees of tissue destruction.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of laparoscopic myomectomy for uterine fibroids. The findings showed that compared to open surgery, laparoscopic myomectomy reduced intraoperative bleeding, shortened operation time and hospital stay, and lowered the incidence of postoperative complications. It also resulted in better clinical outcomes.

Summary: This study analyzed the operative and maternal-fetal outcomes of laparotomic myomectomy in 28 pregnant women with symptomatic uterine fibroids. The procedure was performed between 14 and 16 weeks of pregnancy. The incidence of intraoperative complications was 14.3%, and postoperative complications were observed in 32.1% of cases. Most women (85.7%) delivered at full term, with more than half (54.2%) having vaginal deliveries and normal fetal weights.

Summary: This study compared the cost-effectiveness of different treatment approaches for uterine fibroids (UFs). The results showed that myomectomy was the most cost-effective strategy, while hysterectomy was more expensive and less effective. Furthermore, the study found an increased risk of coronary artery disease associated with hysterectomy.

Summary: Uterine fibroids are common tumors in women, with this research focusing on their etiopathogenesis, growth factors, and diagnostic markers. The study found higher expression of MCM proteins in uterine fibroids, with correlations to hormone receptors. Clinical and pathological data showed negative correlations between MCM expression and number of pregnancies and births, recommending further studies.
