Summary: The article investigates the low-dimensional structure assumption of high-dimensional data. It introduces a new estimator for the intrinsic dimension and provides finite sample guarantees. The techniques are then applied to derive new sample complexity bounds for Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) based solely on the intrinsic dimension of the data.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of vibrotactile stimulation of the hallux nail on segmental coordination to control center of mass (CoM) movement in the mediolateral direction during walking. The results show that vibrotactile stimulation is more effective for young individuals with larger motor noise and smaller synergy index during the single-stance phase.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the changes in kinematic synergy in people with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) compared to asymptomatic participants. The results showed that both KOA and asymptomatic individuals could utilize kinematic synergy to control the center of mass (COM) displacement, regardless of walking conditions. Additionally, the KOA group exhibited higher synergy index on narrow paths.

Summary: This paper studies the quarter-symmetric metric A-connection on a cosymplectic manifold. By observing linearly independent curvature tensors, the Weyl projective curvature tensor on a cosymplectic manifold is constructed. This provides new conditions for determining if a manifold is projectively flat. At the end of the paper, ?-Einstein cosymplectic manifolds of the ?-th kind are defined and it is proven that they coincide with the ?-Einstein cosymplectic manifold.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the changes in intersegmental stability in spastic CP individuals during gait. The results showed that CP subjects had smaller step length and velocity, but smaller difference in stability indices for COM and head position compared to controls, indicating a dysfunction in intentional modulation of stability properties in CP individuals.

Summary: The ability to coordinate finger forces to dexterously perform tasks develops in children as they grow older. Following brain injury, either developmental (as in cerebral palsy-CP) or acquired (as in traumatic brain injury-TBI), this developmental trajectory will likely be impaired. In this study, finger coordination was compared in a group of children aged 4-12 with CP and TBI to a group of typically developing children using an isometric pressing task. Differences were observed between the CP and TBI groups, with the CP group showing more variable performance but similar synergy index as typically developing children, indicating the development of compensatory strategies. In contrast, the TBI group showed worse performance as a function of age, suggesting a negative impact of the injury.

Summary: The study focuses on the impact of a unit Killing vector field on the geometry of Riemannian manifolds, revealing the relationship between the vector field and smooth functions, as well as the necessary and sufficient conditions for different dimensions of manifolds under specific constraints. Additionally, it demonstrates the influence of a unit Killing vector field on the structure and properties of manifolds.

Summary: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common neurodegenerative disease with both memory and non-memory impairments. It accounts for 60-70% of all dementia cases globally. Elucidating underlying mechanisms and developing interventional strategies are necessary due to the increasing number of AD patients. Hypotheses about AD, such as amyloid cascade, Tau hyperphosphorylation, neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, cholinergic, and vascular hypotheses, are not mutually exclusive and all play a role in AD development. This article summarizes recent evidence on major pathological hypotheses of AD and their potential interplay, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of each hypothesis and their implications for effective treatments.

Summary: This paper explores the inherent geometry of video tensors by modeling them as points in product of Riemannian matrix manifolds and proposes positive definite kernels for feature mapping and classification. Experimental results on publicly available datasets show that the proposed methodology outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of classification accuracy.

Summary: Based on this review, plyometric and resistance training may have similar effects on whole muscle hypertrophy in lower extremity muscle groups, with plyometric training potentially having a greater impact on muscle size than previously thought. However, evidence on the effects of plyometric training on muscle fiber-level hypertrophy is currently limited. The combination of plyometric and resistance training does not seem to produce additive effects on anabolic signaling or muscle growth compared to isolated resistance training, but further research is needed in this area.

Summary: The study found that elementary school children learning the long jump skill benefitted the most from frequent feedback (both verbal and video analysis, focusing on all errors) compared to reduced feedback in type (only verbal) and frequency (focusing only on key errors). Kinematic variables varied across different feedback groups, with the group receiving both verbal and video feedback on all errors showing the most improvement in long jump distance.

Summary: Variations in the CYP1A2 genotype may modulate the ergogenic effects of caffeine, with a more favorable response seen in individuals with the AA genotype. However, differences between genotypes were small, inconsistent, or specific to certain exercise scenarios. Further studies with larger sample sizes are needed for a comprehensive understanding in this research area.
