Summary: This study describes five new species of terrestrial isopods from Liguria and surrounding regions. These species belong to different families and are named as Buddelundiella zoiai, Sardoniscus marmoratus, Cylisticus poggii, Porcellio incavatus, and Alloschizidium segestanum. Buddelundiella zoiai, Cylisticus poggii, and Alloschizidium segestanum were mainly found in edaphic environments, while Sardoniscus marmoratus and Porcellio incavatus were primarily distributed in leaf litter or under not deeply embedded rocks. The diagnostic characters, affinities, and distribution of the new species are discussed in the article.

Summary: The terrestrial isopod family Armadillidiidae shows higher diversity in karstic areas and myrmecophily can help them colonize sandy substrates. Four new taxa have been identified and some diagnostic characters used in the taxonomy are not clear. The newly described taxa exhibit patterns of morphological stasis and homoplasy associated with their shared myrmecophilous habits. A revision of the generic taxonomy of the family is needed.

Summary: A new genus and two new species of Platyarthridae family are described from Piaui state in Brazil - Paratrichorhina piauiensis n. gen. et n. sp. and P. taitii n. gen. et n. sp. The similarities and differences with other genera of the family are discussed, along with the provision of a key to the family.

Summary: Parakermania longa sp. nov., the third species of the woodlouse genus Parakermania Vandel, 1973, is described and illustrated from China. It differs from the other two congeners in the number of dorsal tubercles and the well-developed ornamentations on the outer sides of the sixth pereonite extending beyond the apex of telson.

Summary: Three new species in the genus Niambia are described from southern African caves, showing troglomorphic traits. These species are the first troglobitic species recorded in the genus, while most other species of Niambia are epigean and occur in semi-arid environments in the Afrotropical Region.

Summary: A new species of terrestrial isopod, Lucasioides altaicus sp. nov., is described from the Altai Mountains in southwestern Siberia, representing the first record of Lucasioides in Russia and the northernmost habitat of terrestrial isopods known in Eurasia. The study includes diagnostic characters of the new species and a preliminary phylogenetic analysis within the family Agnaridae.

Summary: In this study, an integrative approach combining morphology and molecular analysis was used to delimit and classify the sky-island Ligidium species fauna in southwest China. Four new species were discovered, and the morphological confusion among certain species was clarified. The results confirm the fundamental role of integrative taxonomy in objective classification, and suggest that the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau played a significant role in the species divergence of sky-island Ligidium in southwest China.

Summary: DNA barcoding has become a popular method for species identification. A study as part of the German Barcode of Life project has presented the first DNA barcode library for terrestrial and freshwater isopods from Germany. The study found high intraspecific genetic distances and variability, but still succeeded in accurately assigning species based on interspecific distances.

Summary: Two new sympatric isopod species of the genus Castellanethes (Olibrinidae) are described from caves in the Western High Atlas of Morocco. These cave-dwelling species lack body pigmentation and eyes, showing troglomorphic traits. One species, Castellenethes ougougensis sp. nov., was found in five caves, while C. ighousi sp. nov. is an amphibious species found in only two caves, which also house populations of C. ougougensis sp. nov. The article also includes notes on their habitats and a discussion about their conservation status.

Summary: The postmarsupial manca stages of Armadillidium ficalbii Arcangeli, 1911 were studied in detail through morphological analysis. The morphological modifications during the stages were described and the cephalothorax width was measured as a growth measure. Comparisons were made with postmarsupial manca stages of other terrestrial isopod species.
