Summary: The study investigated N,O-donor ligands with and without pendant morpholine units in metal complexes, finding that these complexes showed excellent in vitro antiproliferative activity under specific conditions, but the presence of pendant morpholine did not enhance the efficacy of the dose. Furthermore, cells treated with the complexes exhibited antiproliferative activity, but favored a necrotic pathway of cell killing.

Summary: Core-double-shell-structured nanocomposite films consisting of PVDF-g-BT incorporated into a P(VDF-co-HFP) copolymer matrix were prepared for energy storage applications. The addition of PVDF-g-BT improved the thermal stability and crystallinity of the films. The films exhibited three dielectric processes, and mechanical analysis confirmed the uniform distribution and strong interaction of PVDF-g-BT with the copolymer matrix. The suggested system shows promise for high-energy-density storage devices such as supercapacitors.

Summary: Symmetric ladder-type oligo(p-aniline)s and poly(p-aniline)s were successfully synthesized by an intramolecular ring closure in a highly efficient SNAr reaction from oligo(p-phenylene)s and poly(p-phenylene)s with fluorine (F) and secondary amine (NH) groups. Unlike Cadogan ring closure, the newly designed cyclization reaction will not produce a mixture of symmetric and nonsymmetric structures. Moreover, the introduction of the F atom does not hinder Suzuki polymerization, indicating the possibility of preparing regular oligomers and polymers with a nitrogen bridge.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of a rare homoleptic thallium alkoxide complex, Tl-2((OCBu2Ph)-Bu-t)(2), is presented. This complex serves as a precursor for the formation of various metal alkoxide complexes, including a T-shaped Zn((OCBu2Ph)-Bu-t)(2)(THF) complex. Additionally, the reaction of Tl-2((OCBu2Ph)-Bu-t)(2) with [Ru(cymene)Cl-2](2) results in the formation of a ruthenium(ii) alkoxide complex.

Summary: This theoretical study explores double molecular doping in an organic semiconductor system, demonstrating double integer charge transfer and the formation of polarons. The analysis based on DFT calculations reveals that the infrared absorption spectrum of the complex can be traced back to the individual dopant and OSC molecules, and the optical absorption spectrum shows features of both intramolecular polaron excitations and intermolecular charge transfer excitations.

Summary: Post-translational protein-protein conjugation allows for the production of bioconjugates that are not achievable through genetic fusion. This study describes a method using x-clamp-mediated cysteine arylation with pentafluorophenyl sulfonamide functional groups to prepare protein-protein conjugates. By computationally designing antibodies targeting the SARS-CoV-2 receptor binding domain and using the pi-clamp sequence, dimerization was achieved, resulting in a significant increase in binding. This strategy enables the construction of molecule-protein-protein conjugates with precise chemical control over the modification sites.

Summary: A series of ionic mononuclear Cu(I) complexes have been synthesized and characterized, and their supramolecular structures and photophysical properties were investigated. The emission wavelengths of these complexes varied due to the regulation of ligands and anions. The luminescence is derived from metal-to-ligand charge transfer excited states, and the stabilization of the ligand-based pi* orbital conjugation is responsible for the observed bathochromic-shift in the charge transfer transitions.

Summary: Material modification with low surface energy can achieve lower surface free energy on micro-and nano-rough structures, which is crucial for developing superhydrophobic surfaces. In this study, attapulgite (APT) was modified with alkylamine, alkylammonium salt, and stearic acid, and the interaction between low surface materials and attapulgite was explained. The results showed that the hydrophobicity of APT was significantly modified by the modifiers, and the surface free energy of the composites first decreased and then increased with increasing molecular number of low surface energy monomers.
