Summary: Bornyl linoleate was synthesized by enzymatic esterification of borneol with linoleic acid in a solvent-free system. The optimal conditions included 8% AYS lipase as catalyst, a reaction temperature of 45 degrees C, a molar ratio of borneol to linoleic acid of 1:2, and a 12-hour reaction time, resulting in a yield of 92.62% and a purity of 99.02%. The final product was identified through mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance as bornyl linoleate.

Summary: The study focused on analyzing reaction kinetics and mechanism for synthesizing propyl benzoate in solvent-free conditions, immobilizing lipase on HPMC and PVA polymer blend, with CCL showing excellent activity. Optimizing reaction conditions and calculating kinetic parameters revealed that propyl benzoate synthesis using immobilized CCL followed the ternary complex model.

Summary: In this study, lipase-catalyzed synthesis of 2-ethylhexyl palmitate (2-EHP) was successfully carried out in a solvent-free system. The Eversa immobilized lipase showed the highest efficacy among various lipases tested for the synthesis of 2-EHP. Optimal conditions for the synthesis were found to be a temperature of 55 degrees C and enzyme loading of 2%, resulting in a conversion rate of 97%. Introducing a step change in reaction temperature from 55 degrees C to 45 degrees C did not affect the conversion rate significantly.

Summary: The enzymatic acetylation of important bioactive cardiac glycosides was studied in organic solvents. Acylation occurred at specific hydroxyl groups of different glycosides under the catalysis of different lipases. The investigation provided insight into the acetylation mechanisms and explained the inability of Novozym 435 to acylate certain glycosides.

Summary: A series of novel glucose-based ionic liquids were synthesized in high yields using simple reaction procedures. These ionic liquids were compared to commercially available imidazolium-based ionic liquids as supports for Novozym 435 in the acrylation of n-butanol. It was found that the availability of hydroxy groups in the glucose-based ionic liquids correlated directly with the overall activity and enhanced recyclability of the biocatalyst.

Summary: The study investigated the correlation between the physicochemical properties of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and the catalyzed synthesis activity of lipase N435. It found that different water content and temperature had an effect on esterification conversion rate and that there was a correlation between viscosity and surface tension with conversion rates. Mathematical models were effective in correlating DESs properties with catalyzed synthesis activity.

Summary: A continuous flow reactor was developed for the chemoenzymatic kinetic resolution of silybin diastereomers catalyzed by Candida antarctica lipase B immobilized on acrylic resin beads. Optimal conditions for kilogram-scale reactions were determined, allowing for efficient processing of silybin diastereomers with minimal carrier degradation and high yields of silybins A and B. Further scale-up is dependent on the reactor size.
