Summary: A cis-dioxomolybdenum Schiff base complex has been synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopic methods. The crystal structure of the complex was determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction, revealing a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The synthesized complex exhibits catalytic potential for the oxidation of sulfides, yielding sulfoxides and sulfones in high yields and short reaction times.

Summary: New oxidovanadium(V) complexes and cis-dioxidomolybdenum(VI) complexes with chiral Schiff bases were characterized and studied for their catalytic, cytotoxic, and cytoprotective activities. The oxidovanadium(V) complexes showed higher cytotoxicity and no cytoprotective ability against H2O2-induced cytotoxicity.

Summary: A new Schiff base was synthesized through condensation reaction, and its crystal structure and properties were characterized. Weak interactions were found to stabilize the crystal self-assembly. DFT calculation showed the presence of two complementary conformations, and the computed results matched well with the experimental data.

Summary: A Mo(VI) complex with a tridentate ONO Schiff base ligand was immobilized on the surface of silicacoated magnetite nanoparticles, and the resulting organic-inorganic hybrid material was characterized. The catalytic performance of the synthesized nanocatalyst for the selective sulfoxidation reaction was tested, and it was found that the catalyst could be recovered magnetically and reused.

Summary: A new hexaaza Schiff base ligand with a piperazine ring was synthesized and characterized. A novel complex of the ligand with nickel was prepared and characterized, showing a distorted octahedral environment around the nickel ion. The anti-cancer activity and antioxidant property of the ligand and complex were evaluated, and the binding mode of the ligand to nickel ion was investigated using DFT calculations. Theoretical and experimental findings were in agreement.

Summary: This study describes the syntheses and analyses of five vanadium complexes with stable ligands. The single crystal X-ray studies reveal that the V(IV) complexes possess an octahedral geometry. In addition, the stability and inhibition activity of the compounds at different pH levels were measured and discussed.

Summary: A single-crystal X-ray diffraction investigation validated the chemical structure and spectroscopic data of (E)-ethyl-4-(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene amino)benzoate. Density functional theory calculations were used to study the molecular electronic structure and electrostatic potential features of the compounds. The compounds exhibited bactericidal activity and potential cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cells, suggesting their potential as anticancer agents.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of HL and its cobalt, copper, manganese, nickel, palladium, and platinum complexes were investigated using various physico-chemical techniques. The coordination geometries of Ni2+ and Pd2+ were square planar, while that of copper atom was described as tetrahedrally distorted square planar. Toxicity assessment showed that the Mn2+ complex did not exhibit any lethal effect on animal cells.
