Summary: The effect of different concentrations of zinc oxide on the dielectric properties of composite films was studied. It was found that increasing the zinc oxide content significantly increased the dielectric constant, AC conductivity, and loss tangent. A direct correlation between the dielectric parameter and the mean relaxation time of polymer chain segmental dynamics was observed, suggesting that the dielectric properties of these materials can be tailored by varying the amount of metal oxide filler for use in microelectronics.

Summary: Water pollution from different industries has been a major environmental issue in recent decades. Efforts have been made to develop technologies for removing toxic pollutants from contaminated water, which pose direct threats to the environment and human health. Heterogeneous catalysis has proven to be an effective method for water purification, although water recovery after treatment remains a costly and labor-intensive process.

Summary: This study presents a new method for preparing durable antibacterial and hydrophobic nanotextiles by covalently grafting zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) onto cotton. The resulting nanotextile exhibited excellent antibacterial efficacy and a static water contact angle (WCA) of 121. Covalently grafting nanomaterials with antibacterial and hydrophobic properties onto textile substrates ensures the durability of the nanotextile.

Summary: This work demonstrates the electrical-mechanical coupling phenomena by decorating piezoresponsive atomically thin ZnO nanosheets on a polymer surface using additive manufacturing technology. The output voltage response of the 3D-printed architecture can be regulated by external mechanical pressures. Energy generation is achieved by placing the 3D-printed fabric on a padded shoulder strap, utilizing the mechanical strength and flexibility of the coated structure. The improved charge transfer at the interface enhances the output performance of the 3D-printed fabric.

Summary: DOPO-ETES and DOPO-AmdPTES were synthesized as halogen-free flame retardants without by-products. They were applied on cotton fabric using sol-gel method and pad-dry-cure finishing process. DOPO-AmdPTES-treated cotton exhibited self-extinguishing behavior with high char residue, improved LOI value and reduced PHRR, HRC and THR compared to untreated cotton. DOPO-AmdPTES-treated cotton showed semi-durability after ten laundering cycles. According to the results, the flame retardant activity occurred in the condensed phase as a physical barrier and in the gas phase through dilution effect.

Summary: This study presents an unprecedented investigation on the influence of parameters such as dyeing, softening, and number of washes on the maintenance of antibacterial activity in polyamide fabrics containing zinc oxide nanoparticles. The results demonstrate that these fabrics exhibit significant and consistent biocidal potential against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, even after repeated washing cycles. This research is important for industries as it reveals the possibility of obtaining antibacterial polyamide fabrics resistant to chemical treatments.
