Direct exposure of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to xenon excimer ultraviolet (EUV) irradiation under ambient conditions produces abundant carboxylic groups bound to lattices. Tube wettability is therefore improved and dominated by polar components arising from hydrogen bonds and dipole-dipole interactions.
