The recent proposition by Mohanty et at (2015) that the lower part of Sausar Group of rocks in central India has a glacial origin, and represents a major Paleoproterozoic super-glaciation event, contradicts some well-established geological and geochronological data on these rocks put forward by other workers in recent past. The merits of this conclusion are discussed here. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
