Summary: An efficient modular strategy for rapid assembly of PET agents has been developed, which allows for a combinatorial approach to cross-linking of positron emitter-bearing prosthetic groups with various ligands. The strategy utilizes a sequential and selective double-click reaction, specifically the strain-promoted azide alkyne cyclization (SPAAC) coupling, to produce a stable intermediate that can be modified with azide-tagged biomolecules. Several PET agents have been successfully constructed using this strategy, and the modularity of the approach has been demonstrated in the preparation of PSMA PET agents, where the hydrophilicity can be easily modified to improve tumor to background contrast.

Summary: Hyper-phosphorylation of tau proteins leads to impairment and destabilization of neuronal microtubules, which is associated with various neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Recent scientific evidence suggests that MT-stabilizing agents can protect against neurodegeneration in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. In this study, a brain-penetrant PET radiopharmaceutical, [C-11]MPC-6827, was developed and its binding constants and metabolic stability were evaluated in vivo.

Summary: Radiochemical conversion is crucial in radiopharmaceutical chemistry, measuring the efficiency of reaction by studying the transformation of components in a crude reaction mixture. On the other hand, radiochemical yield is more suited to determining the efficiency of the entire reaction process, including separation, isolation, filtration, and formulation.

Summary: This study fills the knowledge gap in stabilizing molecular Ti4+ species in aqueous environments through a thorough thermodynamic screening of bidentate chelators with Ti4+ in aqueous solution, as well as computational and structural analyses of key compounds. Furthermore, the chelation capacity of hexadentate analogues towards the Ti-45 isotope for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging applications was evaluated, showing excellent performance for kit-formulation.

Summary: Solvothermal synthesis of mesoporous materials based on amphiphilic molecules as structure-directing agents can be enhanced using non-conventional technologies for stirring and thermal activation. Here, we disclose a green synthesis approach for the preparation of cerium-modified hexagonally ordered silica sieves. Ultrasound micromixing enabled us to obtain well-dispersed Ce in the self-assembled silica network and yielded ordered materials with high cerium content (Ce/Si molar ratio = 0.08). Microwave dielectric heating, applied by an innovative open-end coaxial antenna, was used to reduce the overall hydrothermal synthesis time and to improve the surface area and textural properties. These mesoporous materials were used as a Ni catalyst support (10 wt.% metal loading) for the ethanol steam reforming reaction. The new catalysts featured complete ethanol conversion, high H-2 selectivity (65%) and better stability, compared to the same catalyst prepared with magnetic stirring and conventional heating. The Ce-promoted silica sieves offered a suitable support for the controlled growth of nanocarbon that does not result in catalyst deactivation or poisoning after 6 h on stream.
