Summary: This study found that Tie-2 is modified by AGEs in diabetes, leading to the inhibition of Ang-1 signaling activation and angiogenesis. This finding provides a novel mechanism for Ang-1/Tie-2 signal dysfunction and angiogenesis failure in diabetic ischemic diseases.

Summary: Severe vascular and nerve damage from diabetes leads to erectile dysfunction and poor response to oral phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors. The study showed that administration of Ago2 can effectively improve penile erection in diabetic mice by enhancing cavernous endothelial cell angiogenesis and survival. Ago2 administration reduces reactive oxygen species production and improves signaling pathways, leading to improved cellular functions and erectile function.

Summary: ED is comorbid with hypospadias in rat models induced by DBP, which might be explained by penile fibrosis, testosterone deficiency, and endothelial dysfunction. These effects are likely mediated through the activation of certain pathways and the suppression of others.

Summary: This study demonstrates that Salazinic acid (Sa) found in certain lichen genera can counteract the detrimental effects of streptozotocin-induced diabetes on the male reproductive system of rats. By modulating hormone levels and antioxidant status, Sa restores reproductive organ weight, sperm characteristics, and testicular histological structure.

Summary: This study aimed to establish immortalized rat penile cavernous endothelial cells (rEC) and investigate how they could repair erectile dysfunction in rats with cavernous nerve injury (CNI). The findings showed that transfected rECs expressed CD31 and vWF consistently and were able to repair erectile dysfunction caused by CNI. Therefore, this cell line may be valuable for studying the mechanisms and drug screening of erectile dysfunction in rats.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of CDDP on erectile function and its possible mechanism. The results showed that CDDP treatment could induce erectile dysfunction by affecting the content of endothelial and smooth muscle and causing cellular senescence and cell death. Clinicians should pay more attention to the erectile function of cancer patients who receive CDDP treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the role of iNOS in diabetes mellitus erectile dysfunction (DMED) and confirmed that upregulation of iNOS leads to microvascular dysfunction in patients with ED. Inhibiting iNOS showed beneficial effects in the treatment of ED, suggesting further exploration of its mechanism is warranted.

Summary: This study investigates the impurities of Avanafil using a newly developed UPLC method and successfully detects and infers the structures of four impurities. The study also develops an efficient method to separate these impurities and validates its specificity, linearity, precision, accuracy, and sensitivity. These findings are crucial for the quality control of the drug.

Summary: This study found that arsenic trioxide (ATO) can block the paracrine signaling of angiopoietin-1 and angiopoietin-2 by inhibiting p-Akt/Hif-1 alpha, thereby suppressing angiogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after insufficient radiofrequency ablation (RFA).

Summary: This study aimed to develop HA-based, RA-containing nanomicelles and investigate their effects on regeneration of the vaginal epithelium and AQP3 expression in a murine menopause model. After 4 weeks of treatment, the thickness of the vaginal mucosal epithelial layer and AQP3 expression was increased in the HA-C18-RA group compared with the HA-C18 vehicle group.
