Summary: This study built radiomics deep learning models using computed tomography data for the preoperative differential diagnosis of common cystic tumors of the pancreas. The fused models combining clinical and radiological features showed the best performance for the differential diagnosis of different cystic tumors. These findings have practical implications for exploring individualized management strategies.

Summary: The surveillance of low-risk branch-duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms in pancreatic cysts has been a challenging question for gastroenterologists. Based on up-to-date evidence, discontinuation of follow-up is recommended depending on the stability and size of the cyst.

Summary: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is the most common pancreatic tumor, accounting for 85% of cases. The remaining 15% consists of various rare neoplasms. This study gathered the latest data on the epidemiology, diagnosis, biomarkers, and management of six rare pancreatic tumors to provide important insights for their proper classification and treatment.

Summary: The study evaluated the ability of CT-determined resectability to predict R0 resection in patients with PDAC after neoadjuvant FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy, finding a relatively low sensitivity and specificity. Low-contrast enhancement of soft tissue contacting artery may enhance the ability of CT to predict R0 resection.

Summary: Exocrine pancreatic carcinoma is uncommon in dogs, and the veterinary literature on it is limited. Clinical signs are nonspecific and the overall survival time is short, often confounded by euthanasia shortly after diagnosis. Metastatic disease is frequently found at diagnosis, suggesting the aggressive nature of the disease.

Summary: The study developed and validated a machine learning classifier based on MDCT for preoperative prediction of TSR in PDAC patients. The XGBoost classifier showed good discrimination in the training set and moderate discrimination in the validation set, indicating its potential value as a noninvasive tool for predicting TSR and optimizing risk stratification in PDAC patients.

Summary: Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect early, which is why it is one of the most lethal cancers. Pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCN) are often incidentally found through routine imaging. PCN is becoming more frequently detected with the increase in cross-sectional imaging availability. Certain types of PCNs have the potential to become malignant, making it challenging for clinicians to determine whether surgical resection or interval surveillance is necessary. This review discusses different types of PCNs, compares major guidelines for diagnosis and management, and explores emerging techniques for diagnosis and determination of malignancy potential.

Summary: DDR deficiency and replication stress are independent of each other, offering opportunities for therapy in DDR-proficient PC and after platinum therapy. Patient-derived cell lines faithfully recapitulate the epithelial component of pancreatic tumors, including previously described molecular subtypes, and serve as a valuable model for studying novel therapeutic strategies targeting DDR and replication stress in PC.
