A pathogenic crosstalk between epithelial and immune cells underpins the aberrant immune and epidermal responses seen in psoriasis. Data from a novel mouse model of psoriasiform skin inflammation not only highlight the importance of the interplay between keratinocytes, targets of genetic manipulation, and T cells as the major effector cells, but also reveal a critical role for CD8 T cells and IFN-gamma in disease initiation.
