Summary: The study demonstrated that stent grafts were more effective than balloon tamponade in salvaging ruptured dialysis access, with superior target lesion primary patency rates at 6 and 12 months. The benefit of stent grafts was sustained over time, with an increase in median time to next intervention in the ruptured area. Access circuit patency rates were similar between the two groups.

Summary: The study compared the clinical outcomes of GraftMaster and Papyrus covered stents for sealing coronary artery perforations (CAPs) in PCI complications. Results showed that at 30-day follow-up, Papyrus had lower rates of target lesion revascularisation (TLR) and target vessel revascularisation (TVR) compared to GraftMaster, while at one year, differences remained consistent with a trend towards lower rates of TLR, myocardial infarction (MI), and stent thrombosis (ST) in the Papyrus group.

Summary: GIST patients with air-fluid levels differ significantly from those without in terms of clinical characteristics, surgical procedures, and prognosis. They are more likely to undergo open surgery and targeted therapy with Imatinib mesylate, with higher rates of recurrence and death during follow-up. The Torricelli-Bernoulli sign may adversely affect the patient's prognosis.

Summary: This retrospective study compared the functional and anatomical results of using temporal fascia or tragal cartilage grafts in type 1 tympanoplasty. The study found that both graft types improved auditory outcomes and reduced air-bone gap, but cartilage grafts showed better long-term stability. Younger age and larger perforation size were predictors of long-term functional success.

Summary: A FRC device HUST-FRC (HFRC) is being constructed at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and magnetic compression experiments will be conducted. 22 compression coils installed inside a metal vacuum chamber are designed to have a peak current of about 110 kA rising within 50 μs. The stability of the coils' structure during the compression process needs to be estimated.

Summary: The DTT facility will be equipped with in-vessel divertor coils that can locally modify the flux surfaces in the divertor region. Four in-vessel divertor coils were initially considered, but one is not compatible with the geometry of the first DTT divertor and another coil can be removed due to low efficiency. This paper discusses the design criteria, proposes a revised layout, and illustrates the achievable performance.

Summary: This study investigated the etiological factors and different surgical methods for treating esophageal perforation. The most common causes of esophageal perforation were foreign body ingestion and penetrating injuries. The outcome of treatment depends on factors such as patient comorbidities, cause of rupture, location of esophageal damage, and delay in treatment initiation.

Summary: This study designed and verified an aortic stent-graft by optimizing a specially constructed commercial descending stent-graft. The optimization process, using surrogate modeling and multi-objective genetic algorithms, resulted in improved flexibility and radial support force of the stent-graft. The results provide guidelines and a feasible method for designing aortic arch stent-grafts.

Summary: The evaluation of outcomes of total endovascular aortic arch repair using three-vessel inner branch stent-grafts for aneurysms and chronic dissections showed high technical feasibility and safety. Mortality and stroke rates were favorable compared to open surgical repair, but a high rate of secondary interventions highlights the need for more experience and longer follow-up.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility and early outcomes of total endovascular arch repair using 3-vessel company-manufactured devices (CMDs) and physician-modified endo grafts (PMEGs). The results showed that total endovascular aortic arch repair using CMDs or PMEGs is feasible with optimal early outcomes.

Summary: Diabetes mellitus is a significant predictor of mortality and cardiovascular morbidity in Asian patients without prior cardiovascular disease. Among patients with type 2 diabetes, poorer glycemic control is associated with increased major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) but not mortality rates. A greater burden of microvascular complications identifies a subset of patients with poorer outcomes.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on AMI attendances, STEMI treatments, and outcomes. Data from PPCI-capable healthcare centres in Singapore showed a decrease in weekly elective PCI cases, while STEMI and PPCI rates remained stable. NSTEMI rates decreased during the pandemic. Data suggests that previous experience with SARS helped in maintaining essential services during acute healthcare resource strain. However, increased pandemic preparedness measures must be explored to ensure AMI care is not adversely affected in the future.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to increased interest and demand for telehealth services across the 50 most affected countries. Some countries show a correlation between the increase in relative search volumes (RSV) for telehealth and their level of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, while others demonstrate a greater demand for telehealth services than what their current ICT infrastructure can support.
