Summary: In this collaborative study, the potential of Redlen Technologies' HF-CZT material for direct X-ray detection at different fluxes was explored. The HF-CZT single crystals with optimized electrodes showed low leakage current under dark conditions and good linearity under different incident X-ray fluxes. The material also exhibited good stability and reproducibility at high incident X-ray fluxes. Fast stabilization time and negligible afterglow were observed in the seconds time range.

Summary: The polarization characteristics of ohmic and (Al-)Schottky type CdTe sensors supplied by Acrorad have been characterized with the low noise, charge integrating readout chip JUNGFRAU. The study found that the irradiated areas in the (Al-)Schottky type sensors showed a more robust charge collection compared to unirradiated areas, while no alteration of the polarization characteristics was found in the ohmic type CdTe sensors after irradiation.

Summary: Non-evaporable getter (NEG) coating, with its benefits of evenly distributed pumping and low desorption yields, is widely used in particle accelerators. This study investigates the electron stimulated desorption (ESD) yields of Ti-Zr-V coating with thickness less than 0.5 μm. It was found that activation to 140 degrees C is the most efficient way to achieve low pressure and avoid quick aging of the NEG coating.

Summary: The Bunch-by-bunch (BbB) technique is an efficient tool for studying beam dynamics, but it can only monitor one beam parameter in real-time. To solve this issue, a one-time sampling method (OSM) is proposed to evaluate the longitudinal phase and transverse positions of bunches simultaneously, providing a real-time measurement for BbB three-dimensional (3D) positions.

Summary: The integration of multicore systems with hardware accelerators provides better performance for real-time applications in time-critical fields such as robots, avionics, and aerospace. However, this integration brings new challenges for system scheduling, which requires a hardware-software co-scheduling strategy. In this study, we propose a co-scheduling strategy that minimizes system execution time by combining hardware-software resource allocation and a real-time schedule method. Our experiments show that our algorithm achieves efficient solutions within reasonable runtimes compared to the state of the art.

Summary: Serial crystallography experiments generate massive amounts of data, but only a small portion is useful for downstream analysis. A novel pipeline is proposed to categorize the data by extracting and summarizing features using the 'bag of visual words' method, and then classifying the images using machine learning. The study reveals that the ORB feature extractor with a multilayer perceptron classifier provides the best results for serial crystallography data.
