Summary: The current methods for measuring inequality are inadequate for promoting equity in built environments and urban systems. The Kolm-Pollak EDE offers a new approach that can evaluate inequality of both desirable and undesirable quantities, providing opportunities to address inequities in urban systems. The EDE can also be calculated for different sociodemographic subgroups, enabling tailored assessments to promote environmental justice.

Summary: In this paper, a new variant of the Simple Plant Location Problem is proposed, where each client must be assigned to a couple of facilities. Solutions are compared theoretically, with one model identified as a set packing problem. Despite the NP-hard nature of the separation problem, a separation algorithm is found to be effective and efficient in reducing computational times and duality gaps in tested instances.

Summary: The study reveals that while gender inclusive approaches are being used in the Pacific fisheries sector, there are challenges in implementation, such as most approaches only 'reaching' women without truly 'benefitting', 'empowering', or 'transforming' women's lives. Fisheries organizations need to strengthen their gender commitment and efforts in implementing effective gender approaches.

Summary: Pay equity is not only a reflection of social behavior, but also a representation of gender attitudes. By exploring Chinese philosophy, this study reveals that traditional Chinese culture contains rich implications regarding pay equity and the pursuit of gender equality. These ideas not only shape implicit non-discriminatory gender attitudes, but also regulate male superiority and intergroup prejudice through self-regulation mechanisms. The clash between traditional ideological insights and the modern pluralistic society will undoubtedly promote the renewal of gender equity and lead to changes in social attitudes and employment behaviors.

Summary: This study examines the built environment around elderly communities, analyzing both the social and spatial equity. The findings reveal a center-periphery pattern in the spatial distribution of the built environment around elderly communities, as well as a social disparity between these communities and the whole communities. Additionally, a spatial mismatch is identified in terms of facility diversity, road connections, and the number of elderly in certain towns.

Summary: American public opinion on trade is significantly influenced by the concept of fairness, particularly when it comes to supporting potential trade deals and renegotiating existing ones. Americans see fairness as equal concessions and benefits across countries, but they have a self-centered bias when it comes to outcomes that leave the United States relatively worse off.

Summary: Supplier selection is crucial in the mining sector, impacting various aspects like inventory management, production planning, maintenance scheduling, financial resources, and environment. Decision-makers should consider conflicting criteria and choose a suitable Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach. A combination of powerful MCDM methods is used to select the most suitable supplier, with a case study showing quality criterion as the most crucial aspect.

Summary: This study aims to provide an approach for evaluating the performance of gynecobstetrics departments (GDs) and propose interventions to address their weaknesses. Using the FAHP, DEMATEL, and TOPSIS methods, the study found that patient safety and service quality are the most critical aspects in evaluating the performance of GDs. These findings can be used by healthcare managers to improve the performance of GDs.
