The results are analyzed of comparative durability tests of metal-cutting tools of various purposes and standard dimensions made of cast and rolled high-speed steels of identical chemical composition and heat treatments. A relationship is shown between the tool material structure, the character of the wearing, and the instrument durability depending on the conditions of operation.
