Summary: A method for preparing self-healing elastomers with high thermal stability using stable covalent bonds and dynamic metal-ligand coordination interactions in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is proposed. The PDMS elastomers showed an initial thermal degradation temperature over 380°C and a room temperature self-healing efficiency of 65.7%. Additionally, doping a small amount (0.3 wt%) of Fe (III) increased the char residue at 800°C to 7.19% in nitrogen atmosphere and up to 14.02% in air atmosphere, highlighting the remarkable thermal stability of these elastomers with weak and dynamic bonds. This study provides insights for designing self-healing PDMS-based materials for high-temperature thermal protection coatings.

Summary: Selective liquid-phase adsorption using covalent triazine frameworks (CTFs) as adsorbents offers a highly efficient alternative for separating biorefinery products. Tuning the framework's properties through choice of monomers and synthesis route allows for optimized adsorption of target compounds. Introducing phosphorous pentoxide results in improved separation performance for lysine, with distribution of phosphorous linkages on the surface varying significantly with synthesis temperature.

Summary: SMA polymers are successful for membrane protein extraction, forming SMALPs for functional and structural studies. Partially esterified SMA variants have been effective for solubilization of membrane proteins, showing varying degrees of purity and protein yield. The interactions between SMA and divalent cations are complex and require further investigation.

Summary: The study demonstrates that hydrothermally treating sludge at high temperatures and pressures can effectively solubilize a significant amount of macronutrients, with most changes occurring in the first 60 minutes of treatment. However, prolonged reaction times can lead to the precipitation of phosphorus. Temperature and type of atmosphere have little influence on the soluble potassium concentration, while pressure does not significantly affect the final macronutrient composition of the treated sludge.

Summary: By replacing aromatic rings, internal alkynes, and tert-butyl groups with bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (BCP) units, the saturation level and three-dimensionality of drug-like compounds can be increased to enhance their potency and selectivity. While functionalization of the tertiary bridgehead positions of BCP derivatives is well-studied, functionalization of the three concyclic secondary bridge positions is still a developing field. The unique properties of the BCP core present synthetic challenges but offer novel vectors for drug discovery and applications in materials science.
